Dear Desperados Fans,

We are happy to tell you that Desperados - Wanted Dead or Alive now runs well on modern operating systems:
Windows 7 / 8 / 10
New: Mac and Linux support!

Includes a long lost demo mission where Cooper, Doc and Kate free a town from Outlaws.
A challenging level from back in the old days when some games still had rather difficult demos

Demo mission: French, German, Spanish, English

Enjoy the update and let us know your thoughts in the forum or the brand new Desperados discord channel:

Cheers,
Your THQ Nordic Team
Thx alot for this:-)
Well I couldn't ask for a better present guys :D.
Thanks a lot, this one and Commandos 2 I played for days before GOG era.

In the farthest zoom could use some antialiasing option though. If you plan a HD retexture for this game, please give a hint before I start replaying it :D.
That's awesome! Thank you for this. :)

Thank you! What triggered this though? Posting such update 17 years later seems strange. Are you planning a sequel perhaps? :D

Desperados is hands down the best game of the genre (Desperados > Shadow Tactics > Robin Hood > Commandos).

BTW, where is the demo level? Do we need to play through the whole game to get thsis new level?

Edit:
I've just installed the game and you can choose the demo or the full game from the main menu.

Don't forget Chicago 1930 (sadly still not on GOG). Desperados is also my favorite in the genre, though I have not played Shadow Tactics yet.
Thank you so much!
It is great to see how THQ Nordic takes care of its IPs. Does THQ Nordic have its own dev team in Vienna doing these "smaller" projects like this one or Sphinx, Spellforce 2 or Impossible Creatures?
@KubisForce are you in possession of the raw components to go for full hd or higher in terms of resulution as well?
The whole series needs that badly ;)

Interestingly enough Mimimi just put up the following short clip on their Twitters a few days ago:
video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1014849058459045889/pu/vid/358x640/JPasMy85B-MwhAvm.mp4

If memory serves right, they also mentioned that they had been in contact with resp. consulted some of the former Spellbound employees during development of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, to get first-hand advice on the dos and don'ts of real-time stealth strategy/tactics.

Of course, that doesn't confirm anything and Mimimi's "Projekt Kartoffel" might as well be something else entirely (although the shallow grave and the rickety fence in the short motion capturing clip suggest otherwise) but it certainly makes one think and wonder, and even more so now with Desperados getting the compatibility treatment.

Guess we'll know more on August, 21st when Mimimi is going to unveil(?) whatever they have been working on for the last year or so.
Very nice. The original Desperados doesn't run at all on my Win 10 PC, and even the Wine'd version on my Mac ran rather poorly with extreme load/save times. Looking forward to finally giving this a proper go. :)

Any idea when we'll be getting the Mac/Linux version? I see the WIN version was updated, but the other two are no shows so far.
Thank you so much for this update. Now if you can also update Robin hood the legend of sherwood to work on windows 8 and 10 I would be very grateful. I use to play this so much when i was a kid. :)

Some progress is currently happening ;)
I would be very suprised if we have to wait more than a couple weeks.
Just awesome! Deserved update for one of the best games of the genre. Wouldn't have thought this was going to happen. Thank you!
