Is is possible to launch Rebirth directly from within Galaxy via Descent 1 and 2 Tiles?

I just wanted to update that I found an easy work around to launch Rebirth from within Galaxy. Just copy all original Descent files and the Rebirth files into the DOSBOX directory. Then rename d1x-rebirth.exe to dosbox.exe.

Then launch from within Galaxy :)
This will enable "time played" tracking as well.

Is there a way to stop the automap from randomly changing view?

I'm not sure what you mean...you can try using the "free flight in automap" option in misc settings.

Do you know if derhass has plans to update the raspbian packages? Otherwise I'd have to (temporarily) install scons and some other dev packages which I'd prefer to avoid.

Excuse my silliness but how do I run the original campaign of D1? When I hit New game I can see a zillion levels and the Descent demo, but I'm not sure which is the standard SP mode.

Descent: First Strike is the base game. It should be at the top :)

One more small thing, is there a way to set the inter mission screens back to English?

I thought the only choice was English or German briefings. If you have the German briefings addon (d1xr-briefings-ger.dxa or d2xr-briefings-ger.dxa) simply remove it or change the extension to something other than dxa.
