mogilnik: Well, I did manage to overclock my C2D to 3GHz before, maybe I could try that...
Just skip it for now, there'll be a patch eventually.
I just know that you have to click on switches, making them red or blue or yellow. Using levers left middle and right, etc. After a while it just worked I guess and I watched it work. It does move a long way with a lot of turn arounds but eventually it reaches the bottom right of the screen (in the overhead view). Maybe it worked because I messed with it at first?
Glad I'm not the only one, this almost drove me nuts. It's still quite broken.

So basically no matter what the switches are set to, when the overhead view of the mine pops up it immediately goes away. I kept hoping to learn something better about what I was doing, because I didn't understand what the symbols entirely meant on the map, but finally after switching things around and getting no change I looked up a picture of how the switches should be set (I didn't notice the skip button) and had the same thing where I triggered dialogue and the scene with the Organon, but still wound up back at the station after.

And for the record:
AMD X2 3.0 GHz
4 GB RAM
Nvidia 9800 GTX+ 1GB

I'm having the same problem with the mine view disappearing right away. I can't even find a skip button. Where is it?
My inventory also won't display and I can't get the save/load game screens. Only clicking on the switches etc seems to do anything. I have to kill the game through windows task manager to leave it.

Far right side of the screen when you access the map, I think it was. It's just an X.
I got stuck there, until I tried a different combination. Afterwards, even the original combination (which previously failed as the minebike just turned back towards the control center immediately after the maze screen appeared) worked.

So I'd suggest trying to find a different working combination (there are several possible solutions to the puzzle) and tryign again. Once the next chapter is "unlocked", the game works.
I went through literally - not figuratively - every possible combination of levers and switches. There are four ways to trigger the scene with the three guards (funniest conversation in the game so far, imho):

1. Yellow Lever to the right, Red Lever to the left, Green Lever to the right, Left Switch to Yellow, Right Switch to Red.

2. Same as number 1, except Left Switch to Red.

3. Same as number 1, except Left Switch to Green.

4. Same as number 3, except Red Lever to the Right, Green Lever to the left.

After going through all 72 possible combinations, it was a little annoying to discover that the problem was with the game.
