Hi all,

I'm playing the first Deponia on my MacBook Pro (as I have to travel for work a lot I pass the time in the hotels by playing adventure games on my Mac.)

I've got to the part where you wake up Goal with the coffee and get punched by her. Then you wake up in the emergency centre and talk to Goal who's in the bed. A cutscene starts and then the game crashes back to the desktop. I tried doing different things first but as soon as this cutscene starts I get the crash. I tried skipping the cutscene with the Esc key (which works fine on other cutscenes) but again this just crashes me back to the desktop.

Any ideas how to fix this, or does anyone have a save game for Mac that starts just after this cutscene?

Please re-download the DMG for the game as we've released an updated version of the game :)

Is it fixed now? Had the exact same problem when i played it, switched to Windows then to finish that cutscene

Well I opened up GOG Galaxy which automatically updated the game for me. But on opening the game, all my save games are gone.

I've managed to find the save game folder at ~/Library/Application Support/Daedalic Entertainment/Deponia/Savegames and there is a file in there called bookmark00.dat, but it says it was modified when I opened the game this morning.

Have I lost my save games and have to start all over? If so, I'm really fed up as the Galaxy client should't be allowed to do this and just get rid of all your save games. Please tell me it has put them somewhere...

Hurray! Good news. I did a little bit more delving into the system files and found another folder at

~/Library/Containers/de.daedalic.deponia/Data/Library/Application Support/Daedalic Entertainment/Deponia/Savegames

which contained bookmark00.dat, bookmark01.dat, profile.dat, savegame00.dat and savegame01.dat and the date last modified was before I updated the game. I copied these into

~/Library/Application Support/Daedalic Entertainment/Deponia/Savegames

and tried running the game again. Save games are now back and working. And the update fixes the crash problem I was having at that cutscene.

I think the Galaxy client needs a bit more work so it doesn't do things like this in future.
