I love the Defender of the Crown music. I first enjoyed the game on the C64 where I think the music absolutely rocks with perfect precision and tempo on the famous SID chip. And a year or so I was able to get this game on an Amiga 1000 where I don't really recall how the music sounded like but the graphics absolutely blew me away. I recently listened to GOG's MP3's and it "seemed" off to me. The pitch and tempo didn't feel right and and it had no bass whatsoever. (Sorry I'm not a music guy.) Was this really the original Amiga music? I absolutely love the GOG Amiga version (except for the oversensitive mouse thing which I heard is adjustable--i.e. I never jousted so badly in my life today). I heard a slightly different version of the songs here: downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/defender-of-the-crown-amiga-rip-/defender-of-the-crown-08-end-o f-game.mp3 Maybe it's just me but I would love to hear a fan respond. Thanks GOG for letting me purchase this and add this 5 star game into my library. I really appreciate all you do! Isn't it funny how the EGA version sucked so badly compared to the Amiga version during the same time period. That's why I loved my Amiga so much. Love the ending song so much! Finally a game that gave you a reason to finish it. A real ending.

I never played the original Amiga version (only C64) but the included soundtrack - at least the first title - is too slow. You can compare it with a LP I found which shows DOTC on a real Amiga. However this does not seem to be GOG's fault. In an attempt to correct the speed of the first track I loaded it in Audacity and it showed me a URL contained in the file. The URL was [url=http://www.paula8364.com]http://www.paula8364.com/ obviously GOG took the soundtrack from this site and on the site it already is too slow. However I have sped up the first track 40% and it seems to be correct now. You can listen/download it here. I also sent Judas a link to the file and maybe he'll switch it.
