It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hi everyone.
Defcon just got an update but when I tried to download the update with the GoG installed I get

"Error in chunk 7 - please contact support"

So I just downloaded it manually ok. Not tried it yet though.
I know people are going to say I should be using Galaxy but I don't want to. GoG is about choice, yes I know the GoG downloader is not getting updated but it is what I prefer. Never had any issues bar now.

:(

Same here. Checksome errors from the gog downloader for Defcon and the new Trine EE update :(
Prefer the good old downloader when just downloading the files.

Downloaded the new MDK stuff, Defcon poster1 zip and the new TrineEE patch fine though.

i encounter the same problem ,

i downloaded the file through the browser : and checked the file with the downloader : according to the log the file is incomplete and the downloader restarts from scratch :/

so it's not possible to get the file with the downloader & i'm not sure the file downloaded with the browser isn't corrupted..... (since the downloader claims it's incomplete.....) -> this would be easier with a md5 (at least)....

i'm not sure about the Trine patch (with my download speed, it would take time) , since the file is much larger

i don't want to install the client either.

i couldn't submit a support ticket ....

Same here, with the exception that my downloader gets some sort of "hickup", when it has downloaded a few MB (about 42 MB in my case) the bar gets back to about 18 MB and so on...

All other downloads work fine though

I sent a support ticket request for this problem a couple of days ago... still waiting for it to be addressed. My guess is they just need to update their checksums file, so hopefully they will get to it soon.

You still have the choice to use the downloader, it's just not supported any more so as issues like this crop up they won't be fixing them. Just as you had the choice between downloader and browser before, you now have a choice between Galaxy and browser (and of course the aforementioned unsupported choice to use the downloader).
Not trying to persuade you to use Galaxy, but you have as many choices as you have always had.
Forgive my ignorance, does the galaxy client use a different method to check the integrity of the downloads?
Just curious.

Nope, it doesn't.

I've tried the download with both the downloader and Galaxy.
Results:
Downloader: Checksum error chunk 3
Galaxy: Download never finishes and doesn't display an error...
So long as they fix it and it is not an excuse to force people onto galaxy because they are no longer supporting the GoG downloader. I think we will be ok.

They just need to fix a hiccup.

Lets hope they fix it soon.

If anyone gets it successfully, please report here so we all know. Thanks everyone :)

i don't use Galaxy;

the file seems ok if you download through the browser , if you place the downloaded file in the directory used by the downloader , as i mentionned it's still doesnt work ; the log says download incomplete and restart from scratch , and can't be downloaded .... with the downloader....)

Now if the file isn't properly downloaded with Galaxy (mentionned by Coldy) the downloader has nothing to do with this issue....

I tested different games recently updated and DEFCN is the only game which causing an issue (if you exclude to download through the browser)

Furthermore : the game file size changed and the problem is still there.

I'm unable to open a ticket :/ (so i can only pm some staff members).

Seriously GOG, your service is getting worse & worse.

i know the downloader is no more suported , but the client is STILL in beta, in my POV the downloader should be "supported" till the client is no more in beta (by supported i mean the downloader links , nothing more).

After that, still in my POV, GOG should tell to the users which ain't fond of a client which downloader manager (third party one) should work there (i know one which work) and provide checksums files (that's the minimum to do).

So long as people have reported it. Should be fine. Lets wait and see.
Just tried to download it with the GoG downloader. Still no Good. Same problem. Bar goes up and up then backwards and backwards. Then same error.

Still not working.

XJay did. So long as at least one person did else GoG won't know about it.
