Greetings

Started the game, got the scene when forcing door open and fighting an enemy with sword, then finding something and then an elk comes to the character to cuddle...

The game crashes after that, no matter what...
Does anyone experienced similar crash ? and if so did anyone find a workaround or a possible cause ?

Submitted a support request to GOG too, but hey if anyone already went through that, i'd be interested about any help on that matter.

Thanx

(incidentally i noticed that several Unity engine games are violently crashing at day one release, not every of them, but many... Some got quickly fixed by devs, implying it is some broad/common issue with maybe recent unity build, and problem is not from player/customer's computer side...)

Hi Djaron,

Thanks for giving the game a chance.

Please note that the game requires Windows 10 in order to work properly, and is listed as part of the game's minimum requirements.

The information we have is that the crash after the intro happens on Windows 7. We are aware of the problem but need more time to rectify the situation.

We will be rolling out full Windows 7 support as soon as humanly possible. Thank you for your patience.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

The Decay of Logos Team.

Well, i found this explanation too by checking the steam forums... Seems it is clearly on my fault; i'm so much used on pruchasing games on GOG that had been worked into having compatibility with a broad range of windows versions that i didnt even remember to simply check the requirements.

To add to my confusion, several other new indie games i purchased here are seemingly using the same unity engine sdk/build version as Decay of Logos so i wouldnt have thought about this in first place.

Anyway, thank for one of the folks of the dev team to stop by on this forum to give some answer on the matter, it is not a common behavior so i think due credits have to be given.

On steam forum discussion, it wasn't clear but i thought that the devs didnt pkan any win7 support at all and that the game would be win10 only. But you are mentioning that win7 support is in the study ?
Well if it can help, i did a couple of tests with my IDS's sandbox mode for launching the game, as well as monitoring the process, and it seems crash happened when calling some mp4 asset. At some moment, i had a black screen with the audio from the cutscene just after the elk cuddle on very start, and with possible cutton prompt to pass said cutscene. Which i did, and then game displayed beyond that point (but sandbox mode is not viable for workaround/normal use: cannot any written files or modification made by the application, hence: no savegame or settings)

As the issue was my fault, i know i am not eligible for a refund, and it would be detrimental to GOG; plus it will serve me as a reminder to double check requirements.
Though if you are genuine about a future Win7 support, i guess i can wait some time and try the game again once it would be patched.

Best regards

ps: i can provide unity crashdump file for help/debug purpose if it can help

We are absolutely plan to support Windows 7 and we'll be running some tests ourselves. Hopefully as soon as before the end of the month. Stay tuned and thank you for your patience.

I'm glad to hear this. The game looks interesting, but I'm still on Windows 7.
Windows 7 support is now available, be sure to download the latest update.
