On Steam, both DLC's (The Bad Seed and Rise of the Giant) are available on Linux. On GOG, they are listed as available only on Windows and macOS. Why aren't they on Linux on GOG as well? Are they going to be there?

Just wait for a week or two, so Evil Empire can make the stand-alone installer.
Would be nice if it would work now

Can you guys confirm once this works on Linux so I can get the DLC as well?

Looking forward to this new DLC.

interested too. Was about to buy the bad seed bundle, but released that it lacks linux support right before confirming purchase. Hopefully it wont turn into another game with steam-exclusive linux port
Oh they have pulled the Linux icons for both DLCs from the store page... I wonder what's going on.
I opened a support ticket now, asking for clarification.

It has been this way since at least yesterday.
I got an answer from support.

"GOG Support is not able to provide comments in this case."

Well… in this case I'm not able to buy the game on GOG.

For those interested, the devs adressed the issue in an AmA on reddit

That sounds like there shouldn't be standalone installers for the DLCs for Windows/macOS… Very weird.

Thanks a lot.
This is BS. Why would you need an API for DLCs? You just provide an additional installer. Many games on GOG have DLCs for Linux. Even Dead cells. See attached screenshot. I don't do Reddit, feel free to show them that screenshot.

The most benevolent interpretation I have is that whoever replied there confused GOG with itch, because itch doesn't have a concept of DLC, meaning you can't sell a DLC there (except maybe in some very hacky way).

EDIT: There's another question/answer about it and that's a bit clearer. They are talking about the way devs have to upload Linux builds to GOG, which is different for Linux than for Windows/MacOS. They make it sound like it's a big deal, which it is not. Still, this is on GOG for providing a worse experience wrt. Linux.

That sounds almost reasonable, but it doesn't fit the not on Linux part very well. I'm baffled.

Yeah it's not it, unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to link a specific reddit post, but search for "Linux" and you'll find the explanation mentioned above. The short of it is: Linux upload to GOG is cumbersome and there are only about 10 people using it, so it's a money loser.

Kinda also explains why GOG support declined comment, it's their fault after all and they seem to have a gag order regarding all things Linux.
