Where is the linux version?
Every other Double Fine Productions game here on GOG are triple OS compatible.
Only Day of the Tentacle is windows only.
Don't the dev's get it, it's 2016 people want options and Linux is becoming a viable alternative. People are getting fed up with Microsoft's spyware of an OS and want to move on.
The original press release states Linux. However as we all know by now, thats not indicative of the final product.
No preorder. No tux, no bucks.

Turns out this is what the official page says now.

"Day of the Tentacle was Tim Schafer’s first game as co-project lead, and a much beloved cult classic! This special edition has been lovingly restored and remade with the care and attention that can only come from involving the game's original creators. It’s coming to Windows, OSX, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in March 2016!"

So no Linux, despite the original press release stating it. The wikipedia page lists Linux support as well. But it looks like thats a no show.

Give me either the original version that can run on Linux through ScummVM or a Linux version of the remaster and I’ll happily throw my money in your general direction!

Meanwhile, I’m just passing on the offer of a Windows-only game.
If you want my money, you have to prove that you really care for my choice of OS ;)
Yes exactly, I would have bough it if it was linux.
If more devs payed more attention to linux I'm sure more people would pre order the game. I for one am done with windows only games.

I fell though GOG is not pushing for more linux gaming.
If you look at steam and steamOS/ Linux games they have way more.
OK I know it's not a fair comparison but if you look at steamOS and GOG, the exact same game titles that GOG offers that steam has, Steam has more linux versions of the same games GOG has for windows only.

Common GOG a lot of us want t o game with without windows.
YAY for DRM free but windows only no thanks.

Epsilon: No tux, no bucks.
Well said. :) May I quote that? ;)

Sad to see there's no Linux-port so far. :( With the remake of Grim Fandango Double Fine released a Linux-port, with DOTT they didn't ... curious. Even more curious: DOTT remake has support for Windows XP. Why?!

Okay, so for the time being I stick with the original version running in ScummVM just fine. Talkie version on CD without DRM ... I really wish gog would release the original versions along with the remakes. I had terrible trouble running the remake of Grim Fandango; had to switch back to the original graphics, which sort of defeats the purpose of a remake. Given the choice for Grim I'd have preferred the old DOS-version over the remake and I fear it'll be the same with DOTT.

Maybe one of the Blues (gog employees) could please comment on whether there is a Linux-port in the pipeline. Thank you. Maybe the Blues could also comment on the current stance of gog regarding Linux-support, because I feel they start neglecting it a bit.

Could we also please have Full Throttle? But this time the original not a remake.

According to DF, it is. Don't ask me why GOG can't be bothered to mention any of this.

Okay, thank you very much! Sounds encouraging. You're right: strange there was no mention of it from gog themselves. I don't know what to make of it ... I guess, I'll wait until the Linux-port is available and buy then.
No Tux, No bux indeed :-)
Though I did splash out just now :-(
Well, I hope it comes out eventually.. Can't be too hard given there will be Mac version..
Why do mac users get to play it day one but linux users don't I mean since when did the mac become a gaming platform? What can you possibly do with integrated graphics??? OK DOTT probably will be OK but there are far more mac games then Linux.
You can build a powerful Linux gaming PC, yet there are more games for non gaming hardware like the mac. O and it's BSD based so I don't get the issue here.
I just want to stop swapping back and forth between windows and linux mint. I wish I could use the OS of choice.

i think the release is soon
The dev said at the Steam forum yesterday that the OSX version would come out "very soon" (already out now), but the Linux version would be "much later".

Or they could release the game on the all os at the same time and make everyone happy.
I mean they can make the game for osx which is BSD but not for debian/ubuntu/mint?

Is micros*ft and a*pples paying gog to not support linux????

I don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard that some of the game engines have better Apple support. Apple released some compatibility/conversion tools that are apparently quite handy, and I've been told that's a possible reason why some find it easier to do OS X than Linux.

Thankfully, Microsoft threatened Valve's business model sufficiently that they've thrown their support behind Linux for years and have been pushing Linux support for that. Their proposed "gaming console" that will keep all the same games between generations and runs on your computer as well and that you could buy and already have hundreds of games for will be pretty attractive to enough consumers that it'll become a valuable market. I honestly think that's why we've seen such a big push towards Linux support, and I think it'll only get bigger. Especially once the first crop of Windows 10 users get Microsoft's, "Sorry, your hardware is too old, you get no more security patches. Buy a new computer or enjoy your malware" message and more people start seriously looking at alternatives.

I hope so too, I'm not the crazy about DRM but and and big BUT I think what valve is doing to help push Linux gaming to the next level is GREAT. SteamOS works great though with some bugs but it's still early.
Will this make GOG change there minds about fighting harder for Linux games, who knows.
It really doesn't matter who's fault it is, GOG or the publisher or the dev. I go get it and support who ever has it available for my platform of choice.

I wish it was GOG though!!!! I'll probably wait for DOTT Remastered on GOG hopefully before 2017!!!
