I know that Win XP is obsolete, but if the info about the system requirements says that DARKSIDERS works on Win XP , then, DARKSIDERS MUST WORK on Windows XP....

The problem here is that GOG or Nordic compiled the "DarksidersPC.exe" file only for Win 7...

If You don't want to fix this problem, I'm gonna ask for a REFUND before the 30 days.

Darksiders 2, works fine on this Win XP machine... Is Darksiders 1 that is faulty.
Have you actually contacted GOG support, and I would say Nordic as well?

Forums can be really fun and all. But the most direct route to get some answers is through contacting them.

Honestly the GOG support guys have always been great, and worked hard to fix any problem i've had, or told me that they are working on something. They also might not be aware perhaps. Let them know. You can also ask about the possibility of a refund.

I'd like to hear if you get a response because I'm wanting to install this game on an older PC but because I don't get the same problem I can't help out.

Is the first thing I did, without answer... And Im not the only one with this problem.
I've sent them a note. If more people ask the more likely they will anwser.
Good afternoon I send a query on Monday and still have not received a reply. Should have a little patience.
There was indeed an error on the gamecard. Windows XP is not supported for Darksiders.
Please contact our Support as you are fully qualified for a refund.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

That doesn't make any sense...

If Darksiders 2, a more recent game, works fine on Windows XP, then why the older game doesn't?

The answer: Obviously YOUR version of DARKSIDERS is BROKEN and NOBODY want to FIX it.

The release of broken games on Steam doesn't surprise me...Is a very common thing on them...
But it saddens me that GOG is , slowly, starting to copy the Steam store behavior.

You got a refund and the Steam version works fine on XP, correct? Why is this still an issue? Did you want a DRM-free installer specifically?

No, he said that steam's doesn't work but gog should be "better" then steam and make their version work

which makes no sense to me as xp is a dead operating system. you might as well be angry that gog aren't expending major effort getting it working for windows 95

Actually, here he said that "The Steam edition works fine on older Win XP machines. The Gog's version, doesn't." (It was happenstance that I found this tweet; I was tweeting Nordic about something else and came across it.)

I can kind of understand GOG trying to continuing supporting XP when they can since they do that with various other games, but maybe fixes used to get the game running on Vista or 7 or 8 break the game on XP (for whatever reason).
What i understand is that the build provided by Nordic was a new version that was set to work on Win 7 and up.
Darksider 2 is a newer game so they didn't screw around with it much so it works on XP.

Over all it's not a bug but a developer thing, something out of reach of GoG staff tinkering.

Thank You GOG and Nordic for the fix :)
Thank You GOG and Nordic. Now works great
Is there any chance you could try to fix the Karkinos bugs in Darksiders II? They make the boss undefeatable.
