I never actually played it myself, but I've only heard horror stories about the DS2 port and keyboard + mouse controls. Everyone says use a gamepad or don't bother. Will that change for the GOG version? I hear CDPR fixed Saint's Row 2, so the possibility is there.

Looking forward to feedback from some of the poor shmucks who actually buys the game before checking.

I bought it since i already had it on Steam. Keyboard and Mouse is doable although a bit clunkier in the first DS. DS2 is better in this regard. However I own a controller so I am most likely going to play with that since it is more intuitive...

I finished the game 2 times before, so can answer this - keybord + mouse work quite nice in DS2 (in DS1 I had some big problems).
But, of course, this game was made initially for gamepad. Nevertheless,DS2 as a port is vastly superior to DS1.

Wait, so you guys are saying 2 is actually superior to 1 already? Cause that one I have played, and while it wasn't perfect, it was more than playable. If 2 is even better that would be wonderful news.
My real problem with darksiders 2 on Steam was actually the totally absence of vsync.
My video car is a 560 titanium gtx. Every time i run the game, the fan on my card run like an airplane so i have to shut off the game or i fear i would crash the gpu. Only looking at sky in the game activate 100 fps. The problem is well known, and someone fix it forcing vsync externally with secondary programs or tools, but it never works for me... so... gog fix this crappy issue or not?

If you are talking about the controls - yes, Darksiders II IS far better PC port than Darksiders I.
