Downloaded Darksiders 1 with Galaxy but it didn't want to run when I pressed PLAY.
So I used the icon on my desktop and i got the "not valid..." error.

I re downloaded it, used the repair option but it still wont work.

Any ideas?

try this: Uninstall the galaxy version and Download the game with the classic gog downloader..

I did try that, didn't work. I guess it's just my junk of a PC with WinXp. I installed the game on my laptop with Win7 and it did start up.

In this machine, I have Win XP sp3... Acording to the system requirements, this game runs fine on XP.. Im gonna download it and try by myself...

A Fix Patch was released hours ago... Download it, install it... And enjoy Darksiders..
