Hey guys,

I know I'm not the only one to have this problem, since I've spent the last 4 hours reading about possible reasons for the game crashing. But perhaps you can help me me out, becasue nothing I have tried so far worked even remotely.

This is what happens every time:
I start the game. A black screen pops up, I can still see my mouse cursor. In the lower right corner a loading symbol (3 or 4 dots) pops up. The game crashes immediately, an error message from Unreal Engine pops up, saying that the engine crashed.

This is what I've tried so far:
restarting my pc A LOT
starting the game without using the GOG launcher.
starting without the dlcs.
reinstalling ms c++ redistributable x64 from 2010 to 2015
since I have a 4:3 monitor, and I read somewhere that the game doesn't officially support this resolution: I tried to press Alt+Enter upon starting the game to start it in windowed mode. Didn't work.

What I really would like to try: Tampering with the game settings ini (changing the resolution there, for example). But most of the inis in the WindowsNoEditor-Folder of the game don't contain anything. they are just empty. Do you know, why this is? I really don't understand it :(

What I also am willing to try: using a command line argument from the GOG launcher to start the game in windowed mode or to change the resolution. I just don't know what I should type in there exactly. Perhaps you can help me out here.

Currently I am downloading v1.3 of the game, maybe this will work. But since this will take a couple of hours because my internet is very slow, I thought it couldn't do harm to see if you guys maybe have some advice for me :)

I just wanted to let you guys know that I found a solution. Via Geforce Experience, where you can change game settings from outside the games, I was able to force the game to open in a window. It worked perfectly. I have played Darksiders 3 for something over 20 hours until now, and it only crashed once, when trying to load a cut scene. I just can't play it in fullscreen, but it's certainly better than nothing :)
