It seems Darksiders 2 DE is giving some people problems and if its not going to get bugfixes, how about letting us access the vanilla version with DLC? Customers who have Darksiders have both versions of that game, so why can't customers of Darksiders 2 DE have the other version?

That would definitely be the fairest thing. Fortunately I own the original DS II already, but I wanted to try the Deathinitive Edition because I heard it rebalanced the gear and integrated the DLC to the main story. But when I got it installed I found that it wouldn't recognize my USB controller (Logitech F710) no matter what I did; it also crashed twice when starting it up. I started looking at reviews and while I couldn't find anyone else having the controller problem, tons of other people were talking about the game crashing. I have since gotten a refund. It really is a shame as DS II is a really good game and now the only way to buy it is to get the Deathinitive Edition which apparently has major problems.

edit: I was using the Steam version, not sure if it makes a difference. I might try the GOG version.

GOG users sadly had to deal with missing button prompts for a long time until a few months ago and haven't be up to date with the Steam version's beta releases which I heard fixed some things more than the GOG version.

Not in GOG's hands this one, those who bought the original have a legal right to access that version, that the Publisher can't take away.
The Publisher can remove any game from sale, and did so with the original version.
Cynical reason is to stop people buying the original, instead of the more expensive new version.
So it's the Publisher's you need to ask, not GOG.

Last update on GOG, was after this post
Version: gog-4a, Date Published: 18/5/2017
Don't know whether that's the Beta from Steam.

This ones down to the developer, not GOG.
However much I dislike all store clients, like GOG Galaxy, one clear advantage.
The developer's can no longer claim it's GOG's fault that an updates not here, when it's on Steam.
They can update Galaxy directly, and it's clearly on them to do that.

GOG's reasonably quick to make the manual installers, though the systems not perfect.
GOG needs to stop deleting the older update patches, too often a full reinstall is requiredif one is missed.

Simple fact is GOG's a store dealing with many games, whilst the devs are rarely updating more than their latest release.
When devs just blame GOG, and do nothing, even if GOG's to blame, it's still the devs responsibility to get it fixed.

I look at it this way, as if it was an update like DLC, they were selling to existing ownwers.
You know damn well the dev would do everything they could to fix it ASAP.
I expect them to do the same with updates to fix what I already have paid for.

So look to the devs for updates not appearing on GOG.
Look to GOG when Galaxy's updated, and the manual installers are not, but you need to give GOG a few hours to get it done first.
