I recently purchased Dark Reign 1 + Rise Of The Shadowhand expansion, and imagine my disappointment when I launched the campaign missions for the expansion pack only to find that exactly the same music tracks are playing in the expansion as in the original campaign. What happened to the expansion's soundtrack? Why don't we have it?

Strange as it may sound (or not) I was looking forward to reacquainting myself with the music from the game as much as with the game itself, and the OST of the expansion pack I recall as being quite memorable in its own right. Naturally I tried looking through the game's installation folders, hoping to find something there, but needless to say all I found was the OST for the original game in MP3 (which is good nevertheless), but nothing for the expansion.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to remedy this situation?

No remedy, but I agree with you, GOG should have the music for the expansion included as well.
I didn't even know the expansion had its own soundtrack. Well, indeed, GOG did bad work here. They've GOT to add the addon music.
I emailed GOG regarding the issue, and this was their response:
"I investigated the matter and found out that at the time of this title's release, we weren't able to find a dedicated soundtrack for it. Our assumption was that it never had a soundtrack of its own, and we used the original's music for the expansion. We apologize for this, and will see if we can acquire the appropriate soundtrack in the near future. Thank you very much for pointing this out."
Well, here's to hoping that they will eventually get things sorted out.

I do have the original disc with it's own soundtrack, and it's indeed a different (and in my opinion much better) soundtrack, composed by Danny Pelfrey. I'm surprised they didn't know it had one, there are 9 tracks in total, including this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQa4PtdWCow

Man, the soundtrack for the expansion is as scarce as rooster teeth. Would be nice if somebody would share... (HINT! HINT!)
By the way, GOG let me know that they can't source the soundtrack, so it will never be resolved. Maketh me sad in pants...

Reupload plz!

I have the expansion disc here. Would it be worthwhile for me to rip this to FLAC, or MP3 and upload it somewhere? Would GOG be able to make use of these files?

I guess there is more of a legal problem rather than a problem with finding the tracks in a proper format. Dark Reign is owned by Activision, the same guys that raped Blizzard, not a easy task, so probably this issue will never be fixed :(.
This is old as hell, but as someone who used to own the Dark Reign series and got the GOG version a while back (only recently started playing it again), I was immensely disappointed to find the Rise of the Shadowhand soundtrack to be completely absent. If someone has an MP3 rip, would they be able to upload it? I'd like to have the option of switching between the original and expansion soundtracks, even if it means a bit more work renaming folders and such. Definitely beats not having it at all.
