Yup. Reminds me of MEGARACE, and, strangely, Sega's GP WORLD (Arcade,1983/1984), both of which used the "digitized track" technique with sprites over the top (GP WORLD used a laserdisc for this back when Dragon's Lair came out). GP WORLD is by far the better game, but as it's not commercialy available (and only halfway playable in DAPHNE), I still play this for mindless laserdisc-flavored fun.

Yes! I knew about this game for long time but never actually played it. Considering lack of classic racing games on GOG, it's a nice addition.
