Is there any way to play this game in windowed mode?

In order to get windowed mode in the first Cultures you have to add the -window flag to the GOG shortcut so it looks something like this:

C:\GOG Games\Cultures and Cultures 2\Cultures\Cultures.exe -window

You'd then have to change the color depth to 16 bits.

Cultures 2, on the other hand, doesn't support a windowed mode, unfortunately :(
What is about Cultures 3 and 4 on Windows 7?

How do I make it play in 16 bits, the graphics settings don't seem to save.
Or do you mean I set the Windows graphics down to 16 bit?

Launch parameter is -gfx_fullscreen:0
Tested on Cultures 4

Nice tip, works great, I'm using with properties -> compatibility section -> set to color depth 16bit
(If someone can't find where to change color scheme)
