Whenever I move a card it doesn't quite land where it ought to. It's hard to explain but it's a lot less intuitive than it was back when I first started playing. I'll try to move a card somewhere else on the table and it'll land like several pixels across the screen. lol Anybody else having this problem and is it a result of the most recent updates?

Yes! And it's driving me crazy to the point where I just can't play anymore. Which is a shame because I really love this game.

As far as I can tell, one of the updates added shadows to the cards, and the card ends up landing wherever the shadow is placed when you release the mouse button. The shadow tends to line up with the card pretty well at the center of the table, but once you get to the outer edge you can see a big difference between the position of the card and the shadow. And sure enough, it's at the outer edges where the problem of the card landing in the "wrong" position seems to be the most pronounced.

I reviewed the patch notes, and while there were some major issues with the grid, it sounds like those were fixed but this problem remains for me. I'm running 2022.3.q.1.

I really hope the developer monitors this message board, because as I said I really can't play the game like this. I've already completed an advanced Grail Legacy and was partway through a Forge Legacy, and I would be really bummed to not finish it up. But honestly this problem just stresses me out too much to continue.
For anyone else who is struggling with this issue, reverting to the cultist_classic_original_ui beta path lets you go back to the old interface. I just tested it and the cards drop exactly where I mean to place them just like in the old days.

The thread from Alexis Kennedy titled 'WHY IS GAME ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥??? (read this for help)' has more details regarding how to enable this beta path and recover any save game you had before the change was made.

I think it's awesome that the developer is continuing to update this amazing game so long after release, but unfortunately the card dropping issue is a deal breaker for me. It's a shame because I would definitely be interested in checking out the other changes. I'll probably give it a go after I finish this run and have a save I'm less invested in.
I've started actually getting used to the freaky new system - although I still kind of hate it, I do like having an extra area for verbs (instead of them just appearing next to the verb that "spawned" them and pushing stuff out the way).

Also, when playing the Exile DLC, the city you're in is updated properly (previously had to save and reload to show the correct city).

The main problem - apart from the dodgy cards - at least for the Exile - is that it's kind of broken at the moment. In that when moving to a new city, stuff that's currently in play in other verbs, when they gets stopped or destroyed, is either incorrectly destroyed (had this happen to my Lore!), or incorrectly still exists (I've had the previous city remain even after arriving in a new one, which could be exploited by scouting the old city while already in the new one). Most of these I've fixed via some half-assed modding, but it's still not perfect, so will probably revert to the beta as well pretty soon...
I don't know how you can possibly get used to it, it constantly wants to put things absolutely nowhere near where you have them.

Like in this screenshot in the latest version, you can see I'm holding the Mystique card in the lower left. The space where I'm holding it (and from which i have not attempted to move it!), is empty, the spaces next to it on the right, left, bottom, lower left, and lower right are empty, there is a pile of Mystique cards to the upper left, but the game wants to send it clear across the board to the centre.

One tiny movement or too long a click, and cards are completely flung about. It's unacceptable. Same thing with verbs and trays.
