Has the issue with having galaxy formerly installed been resolved? I get no booting whatsoever with the game (not even an error message) if I don't have the client installed, but avoiding a crappy client is the entire reason I use gog.
I contacted GOG's support service and I needed only to follow the first step [there were many to follow if needed be]: delete the Galaxy folder in C:\ProgramData\GOG.com. In order to access it you must have the "show hidden files and folders" activated.
Consider that I installed the game after
having Galaxy uninstalled some time ago (never used it though). I did not need to install Galaxy's newest version (and uninstall it subsequently). Should you require it just contact them (great service!).
Let me know if it works!
Sounds like you have leftover bits of Galaxy on your system. Install the current version of Galaxy and then uninstall Galaxy. Otherwise, contact support and they should be able to help you manually remove the remnants.
Greetings Gydion! Your intuition was correct; I just had to get rid of those Galaxy remnants in the system and everything worked! Thanks for your guidance!
