Days and days, by Jiminy, yes.

I'm on mission 7. I believe I picked up three keycards, but I can go no further. I've been around the place so often it made me dizzy.

There are two shielded doors as shown in cnr2.jpg. One requires an entry code, but I've only seen two computers, and they didn't have it (but one warned that a certain machine could mess up your hair). There's another shield as in cnr4.jpg. I believe one of these is the way forward. I think cnr.jpg comes later.

Of course, I'm missing something. I noticed that it's possible for me to miss keycards even after walking past them a zillion times. There was one place where you had to jump through a wall, and I don't fancy testing every single bit of wall. At another place, I found you could fall through the floor after destroying a nearby barrel. The cluebook hasn't helped me. Who can?

Remember me?

I remember getting stuck on this area as well. The areas shown in your screenies you don't access till quite a bit later during the mission. For example, the lift in the third screenie, you don't go up it, you're meant to come from there after getting a code for the door in the second screenie. I just went through a mock run through of the level and gotten quite a ways but still haven't accessed the area in your first screenie. Here's what I think you missed.

Check the first screenie and use that switch. Go around the top into the area with the second screenie. Jump down into the area with a telepad (activate the switch first). You never mentioned going through a telepad so I'm assuming this is the part you missed (it was where I got stuck first time trying this mission). If not, just post and I'll try again.

You've helped me a few times here and also with Icewind Dale, so I won't be forgetting you. It's just a shame you don't also do Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded.

I used that telepad ages ago, so I hope I'm going to hear from you again.
I should have a solution for you this time, I'm just gonna go through it step by step and you can just skip to what was missed. As always check the screenies.

First, you did get the two keycards in the first two screenies right? To get the second one, you need to get on the conveyer belt and jump over. If you already have those two keycards, it's just a matter of getting to the blue door as the route is fairly linear from there. Remember the area in the third screenie? Follow that arrow to take you to the blue door in the fourth screenie. Loot the container quickly and head over to the yellow door. In that door there is a small room with a red keycard and a telepad. After grabbing the key and stepping on the telepad, it will take you back to the area I mentioned in my last post, just head to the right to get the area in your first screenie and open the force field with your red keycard. And there you have it :)

Yeah, sorry, I don't have alien shooter so I won't be able to help there, :P

I had the keycards in the first two screenies. I had also already opened the blue door. I had the keycard next to that telepad. So I used the telepad, and all of a sudden, I can get through the shielded door in my first screenie. Why has this started working? Is it because I used the telepad?
I can only think of two things it might have been.

1) Last time you tried to get through that shielded door, the alarm had gone off. You can't use any keycards when the base is under code red. You know the base is under code red when the "alert" signs are flashing and occassional alarm sounds throughout the mission. If you did pick up that red key card next to the telepad but could couldn't activate the switch, this is more than likely what happened.

2) You encountered a rare bug, I have had something like this happen but only in the first mission where I blew up my objective but the force field stayed up. Reloading fixed the problem and never encountered anything like that the rest of the game.

As far as I know, the only triggers for doors are switches, key cards and the occassional proximity door. Can't think of any doors staying locked unless the player did something else like use a telepad or whatever. All I can say is try and make sure the base isn't under code red and if you do set off an alarm, deactivate it as soon as you can because unless the alarm is deactivated, you will be locked out of certain areas.

I've been stuck on this for ages. I tried approaching this door after deactivating the alarm many times. I also doubt it's a bug. I had another problem someone said was a bug, but it turned out I hadn't done the right thing. I think the problem was resolved because you have healing hands.
... and there is something else you could help with. Shortly after getting through that door, I get a cutscene and the game ends. But there are 15 missions, and this is only the seventh. What's up?

Heh heh, I don't think it's because I have healing hands but I'm glad you got past that force field regardless.

Is the cut scene the one where the facility blows up? If so, the game ended because you placed the fusion pac but didn't jump out in time therefore you went up in smoke with the facility. A corpse will have trouble doing future missions, that's why the game ended. IIRC, the telepad to leave this mission is the same one you used at the start of the mission. See the lift in your first screenie? You'll be coming from that point, not backtracking all the way round (there's no time for that anyways). If this doesn't help, just post again and I'll give it a quick run through myself and give more detailed instructions next time.

That was it. I had been ignoring the increasingly urgent beep - beep - beep. There wasn't much time to get out - I ran past guards and robots instead of engaging them. Thanks for the zillionth time.

Not a problem. I'm sure you haven't seen the last of me yet, heh heh ;)
I'll be hearing from you again before very long at all. There's something else I've been stuck on for days, and I'll start a new thread about it any day now, when I finally give up.
