I ask because I remember back about five years I tried some older original version I had in dosbox and it wasn't playable because the usage of the mouse pointer was just .. it wasn't accurate, flaky at best. I just wasn't possible to exactly pinpoint a location; I don't remember the details but I barely made it through the first room.

Since I don't see anyone complaining I guess it works OK? Could a few people describe their experience with that on their GOG version?

thanks :-)
I've only played the GOG version so can't compare it to previous versions, but I found the controls using the mouse to be pretty atrocious. The control scheme using the numpad seems to work much better.

GOG's version also uses DOSBox so it likely is not any different from the version you played before.

HOWEVER, it's entirely possible that the mouse issues you experienced are related to some specific problem with your hardware and DOSBox and could perhaps be troubleshooted.

Having said that, most players are recommending using keyboard only for controlling the game, so it could just be the the mouse support in the game itself is simply bad. I haven't tried it myself (played with keyboard only long ago) so I can't say for sure.
Mouse control sucks in Crusader.
I suggest playing with a gamepad. DosBox supports it and should be recognize automatically I think.

According to this post you have to setup for the game to use the gamepad by running the setup, see http://www.gog.com/en/forum/crusader_no_remorse_/controls/post15

I prefer using third party software so you can take full advantage of a modern gamepad. I use Pinnacle Game Profiler. At the time I bought it Xpadder was weak. I think it still may be more powerful, but from what I hear, Xpadder has come a long way. Using Pinnacle's shift functions everything can easily be mapped to a 12 button gamepad. You can then map your mouse to one of the sticks, so you still have that functionality. You won't need to use a keyboard at all. Pinnacle costs money, but Xpadder is free. Im not sure if it has the shift ability, but I would be a little surprised if it didn't.
Mouse is fine for me and is actually my preferred method of control.

I just wish I could toggle crouch more effectively when using the mouse (the numpad works, normal key -5- doesn't), though I didn't need the option once I found the RP-32 in the fifth level.

I sorely missed it when using the SG-A1 (the non-auto shotgun). It fires and reloads much faster when crouching and is incredibly effective that way.
Gave up using the mouse five minutes in back in the day. You can play just fine with the keyboard.
