Anyone have a list of the controls for this game? Or maybe the manual or whatever? I'm having a bit of a hard time finding out how to do a lot of stuff. I used to play this when I was a little kid and I remember I had it all pinned down (I think it was one of the first games I ever finished, haha), but now I'm much more useless. :P

Thanks in advance!

Manual is included with the game. Just download it from your account.
press the F1 key during the game
Always been interested in the game, but never had a chance to give it a shot. While your reference card suggests there is some mouse support, does the game support aiming with the mouse? Or do you have to point your character in a direction to shoot in that direction?

You point your character into the direction. I highly recommend not playing with the mouse, since it's a bit unstable and finicky. It's best played with a keyboard only.
And be sure to check NumLock, since it does impact how You turn around. It changes from absolute [pressing up will always point you north, left will move you west, right - east] to relative [pressing up will make you go in the direction You're facing, left right turning You around]. I prefer the second. gives me control over my spray and pray tactic.:>

Does anyone know if it's possible to use XMapper with a 360 controller to play this game?

But but but you can turn faster with a mouse!

I can't even remember how I played the game back in the day.

By the way, is there a dedicated button to hoster your current weapon or do you have to press something like Walk instead?
Is it playable on a notebook? Notebooks don't have the number keys all lined up. I remember having those weird numeric controls back in the days...

I'd say the game is most playable on a notebook!

If GOG have patched it to the latest version it should have joypad support built in. If not, then I don't know if it's worth looking at patching it manually - http://www.wcnews.com/webmirrors/tech/download.html

I agree that the mouse is a bit jerky at times, however after you take a while to get adjusted, i found it more fast and enjoyable

Thanks, I tried to install the patch but no dice, I get a compatibility error. I guess I'll just mess around with pad mapper and see if that does it.

I've sorted it - it is patched to the latest version, but you need to select the joystick in the install.exe file. The easiest way to get to this without too much faffing around is to edit the dosboxcrusader.conf file in the install directory, and right at the bottom change crusader.exe to install.exe, then launch Crusader from the GOG shortcut. Then change the control method, then edit the .conf file back to crusader.exe.

I had to do it this way, as the install.exe doesn't seem to like running outside of DOSBox.
