I don't have an internet connection where I live. I pretty much have to hit a computer lab to download whatever I need and then carry it home on a thumbdrive. Would this game be compatible with that kind of situation? It sounds awesome, but it also sounds like the online interaction is a pretty big part of the experience.
Thanks for any information.
Even without Internet, you have so much to do in this game that you won't regret it. Internet functionalities just adds a way to exchange norns and multiply your gene pool for evolution. But with 16 norns at a time in solo, and more if you modify, it's mor than enough.
The online was added later with creatures 3 docking station. On 1 and 2 you could import norns gotten from other places. Docking station just made it easier to do it.
Awesome, thanks. I think I'll give it a shot.
Actually, whilst I'm not sure about the Exodus version, the original Docking Station does require you to be online to create a world. There is a way to get around this with 3rd party downloads, so if it is a problem for you then you should check out the following link:

I bought Exodus from GOG just two days ago. The core C3 game doesn't require an Internet connection to play, but like the poster above me said, Docking Station requires you to be online to register your new world for the very first time (after which you can play it offline without any problems).
If you're buying Exodus, there's an option to run a "docked world" (which connects the C3 and DS worlds seamlessly together), so this may be applicable to you. However, like I said, you only need to register your world with the DS server once.
If for whatever reason you wish to create a new DS/docked world and you lack online access, the aforementioned 3rd party tools can help you out.
PS. All the links for the original "DS Login Disabler" are dead. I've got a copy on my HD, so if you want it, let me know. It's also worth mentioning that C12DS, an add-on for C3/DS that recreates the first Creatures game for the C3 engine, contains the offline-world functionality by default.
Ah, sorry about that, I did notice that some links were dead but the wiki does mention (admittedly quite briefly) that you can still find the original DS Login Disabler over on Treesprite's forum (where a lot of 3rd party stuff is actually, so it's worth checking out), and that, just as Spritescaper pointed out, C12DS is an alternative.

The forum is currently down-- is it still maintained?
Also, does C1DS install properly to a GOG install? I ran it, but it never gave the option to pick a folder, and I can't even tell what it actually did.

Yes it does. I run C12DS with Creatures Exodus bought from GOG.com myself. :)
Hello I am also looking for the login disabler.. I cannot find it anywhere and have been searching off and on for over a week now. I registered at treespites forum but where it shows the attached file on there it acts like just text or an image, it doesn't do anything when I click on it.. so if anyone has it I could really, REALLY use it. if someone could email it to me my email is cukiemonster@rocketmail.com and it would be much appreciated.. also I have internet access and when I try to run it it gives me a message saying it could not be updated? I don't know if that's something the disabler covers or not.. but I cannot get around it in order to finish installing it.. any info would be appreciated..
