Totally new to this game. I was wondering if it is possible to register for Docking Station? When i click the available in game link, it seems to be dead.
Welcome to the Creatures series! Docking Station is a great place to start, although I also recommend picking up a copy of Creatures: The Albian Years if you haven't already. It includes C1 and C2, and is currently just $4.99 for the year-end promo! These earlier games offer a different way to delve into the world of Albia.

EDIT: The Docking Station registration process is no longer working.

Once again, welcome to Creatures and I hope you enjoy Docking Station! Good luck!

Did you manage to register for your free Creatures Docking Station account?

I believe the correct URL to register for a Docking Station account is http://www.gamewaredevelopment.co.uk/ds/active/register.pl which appears to be working. If that doesn't work, however, I would be happy to try to help you out!

I don't know if you're still here, but I registered for the site and recieved my password in the email, but am unable to log in.
I have had a couple instances of not being able to log into the website itself. It's barely functional (not the fault of GoG though), but fortunately, by now there's not really anything you need it for.

So long as you are able to use your username and password in the Docking Station game itself, your world will be connected to the Warp and you'll be able to send and receive Creatures through the Warp.

Hiya, I have just tried to sign up for it, and my password doesn't seem to have come through! Is that place completely dead now, or should I still get a password?
Hmm. I don't think it is completely dead, but it's pretty close.

The only thing you need a DS ID and password for is if you want to connect your game to the "warp" and be able to send and receive creatures from other players that way.

If you've tried to register and gotten nearly to the end, you may have gotten far enough to connect your game to the warp. The game will ask you when start up your world if you want to connect, and will ask for your password. I'd try it and see what happens.
I haven't got a password, I am still waiting for an email with it in, which doesn't seem to arrive!
im a returning creatures player. i registered a few days ago and i too havent gotten my passcode.

@telinome.....you allso need a DS ID to create new worlds, espically the first one. so what are the new players to do sence it seems the registration website is dead. cant play the game without that passcode. :(
btw, no i dont remember the old username and code. :( was over 10 years ago.

I'm having trouble with this myself. Still waiting on my password email after creating my account...
I made three separate accounts on three different occasions to see if even one of them would get through.
After a couple of weeks, nothing has happened, and when i tried to email the people who run the site, i receive a "Message sending failure" similar to one you would get if they have no email services connected anymore.

I would have liked to use DS, but it doesn't look like its going to happen.
I've sent off a support request to GoG. I doubt they can do anything, but they should at least know that half the product they're selling is unavailable to new players.

Edit: This will do in the meantime http://www.gog.com/en/forum/creatures_series/docking_station_password_fix

Hello!

Anyone have news/updates on this issue? I have just reinstalled Exodus after years, I don't think I ever had a username & pw...., I know there is a login override thing to use offiline which will be my next step, but:

Does Docking Station currently work online 20082016?

What's the last date anyone had access?

Does anyone have a username/password they want to give me? (Will that achieve anything anyway?)

Can creatures be warped to other users/ game worlds in offline mode?

FYI the registration page for a docking station username etc currently exists (20082016), and prompts for missing form data, but after submitting, blank page presents and I guess there is nowhere on the oter end to receive/action the data.
gamewareeurope.com/GWDev/ds/active/register . pl

Thanks!
I'm pretty sure there is no way to register a new account, or even log in with an old account. The easiest way to get into Docking Station is with the offline patch.

As starshard0 said, there is no way to currently use the online features of Docking Station, unfortunately. I was lucky enough to use the warp right around the last time it worked, and I want to say that was somewhere in the neighborhood of 2011/2012. So long ago! Having a username and password doesn't accomplish anything: It just gives you an error message about not being able to connect.

The only way to share Creatures offline is by exporting, sending/uploading the file somewhere, and then having someone else import that Creature. It's a rather long and manual process when compared with the Warp, although it's not too terrible if that's what you're aiming for!

I would recommend caution on the Gameware Europe site, because this was moved over from the old domain... Which is now owned by someone else, and can cause issues. If it helps any, I've created an entire list of safe links for all of the official pages, which can be found here.

The offline patch is the only way to play Docking Station, at least for the moment. Good luck!
