Hi all
I note that there are some people on this forum who think that Jujubee have released 'Covid:Outbreak' as some sort of a "cash grab" to make money out of the current worldwide pandemic, which continues to bring so much pain and misery to so many people across the world.
I thought about it this evening, and no - I don't think it is a "cash grab". I was looking into their stock value (image attached: source reuters.com, retrieved on 01/06/2020)
As you can see, I think that for a company with a value which has unfortunately been in freefall at times over the last 8 years, they had recently started to pick up, before the game Covid:Outbreak was even released, (although still significantly lower than the heady days of 2017).
I actually think, given what might be seen as an alarming flatline, and then decline in their company value over the last few years, they are very brave to offer 20% of their sales of Covid: Outbreak to charity for 33 days, and should perhaps be applauded for doing so.
I wonder what their share value will do over the next few months? Unfortunately for me, I won't find out, as I have, only this weekend decided to stop buying games on GOG, so have no vested interest. It might be an interesting topic for others to pick up on though?
Although I was sceptical at first, I must say well done to all you kind folk at Jujubee for your educational gaming experience, and generous donation to medical science, in the face of this virus which is causing death and grief on a monumental scale every single hour of the day.
I'd ask that you please keep the information provided for players, as laid out in your marketing promises, up to date over the next few years, so that it does not spread misinformation about SARS-CoV-2. It might 'only be a game' to some, but you now have a duty of care to the players you have promised information, to keep them safe in the "most effective way". I wish you luck.
Thank you very much, and best wishes
Post script: My sincerest condolences to anyone who has lost friends or relatives as a consequence of this pandemic
