Big issue when I move mouse or use keyboard to move my view around the ship its so damn fast its almost impossible to play all this while boarding ships.

The FPS is very low but its not big issue. (23-25fps -- seems like there's cap)

mobo: msi z77 'ish
cpu: i5 2500k
gpu: ati 7970
ram: 16GB

Same thing happening to me. I was thinking about setting core affinity to a single core. Maybe that would fix it?
the fix is rather simple - set compatibility and disable following:
Disable Visual Themes, Disable Desktop Composition, Disable Display Scaling on high DPI settings.

Its running fine after it.
How do you disable visual themes and desktop composition in windows 8.1? No help from google search.

According to Microsoft themselves, the Desktop Window Manager is always ON, there is a post lower down in that article that may be helpful in turning off the DWM but it may cause problems.

Hey, when I had got the game initially, I was able to move at a normal speed when boarding, but after I tweaked my game to get the rest of the Spanish missions its moving too fast for me and I did try disabling those three things that were recommended but to no avail its still too fast. Any suggestions would be appreciated
I have the same problem. Boarding that are all the fun parts are unplayable on windows 7.

Tried to desactivate the options described above but does not change anything.

If someone has a solution

Please send all technical issues, including the one you're describing, to Support. The more info we get from systems that are affected , the better the chance we ca work towards a solution. Thanks :)
Ok I have send info to support.

The strange thing during boarding is that I have two cursor, the one from the game and the one from the desktop that alternate very quickly.

It is like I am in a failed alt+tab situation that happened in many game where we have some element from the game state and some other from the desktop one after doing alt+tab.

Hope you will solve this issue. Had a lot of fun with this game and epic battles.

Will this problem be fix a day?

No boarding equals no game. ALL the fun is boarding phases.
I bought this game. I run it on Windows 8 and all i can see is the ontro movie than my screen turns white. I can hear the menu but can't see it. When will this be fixed?
I'm having the same problem on Win7 as CyklonDX and evildragon44. I tried to disable visual themes etc but it dosn't help.

Will GOG finally do sth about it or not?
I still have this same problem as well, been screwing around with compatibility mode, but no success so far.
Yep, same here. Been screwing around with resolutions, compatibility mode and all others but the mouse and keyboard are too damn fast! Looks like the game is getting shelved until (if) there is a fix.
Here's how i got it to slow down:

Under Control Panel | Power Options Select "Change Plan Settings" on that plan and then Select "Change Advanced Power Settings". Then select the "+" to expand "Processor Power Management". Then select the "+" to expand "Maximum Processor State". Set the maximum to 25%.

Hope this helps. :)
