We'd like to release the game on Mac and Linu. The engine (Unreal 4) supports both platforms, so I don't expect any problems there. However, we won't know until we try, so it's not a promise but a goal.

We won't have time to try until the game is finished as we're focused on the content at the moment.

I've been running Linux (OpenSuse TW) for some time now and having support for Wine/Proton is sufficient. If devs spend time (thus money) on Linux which will have a minimal return, then that money isn't spent on the game itself.

And if I have no desire to spend money on a game without Linux support, then the developers will not receive my money. Or i will buy it only with 50% discount. Adding Linux support may be more profitable.

Just use WINE. I used to ask for Linux versions. Linux is so buggy you may as well just do it yourself, but if you can do it yourself it does work really great. But overall Linux support sux so good luck :)
I'm running this under Wine (5.0) on Linux Mint 20.3 (Cinnamon UI) with DXVK. I believe I also had to set the renderer to GL in WInetricks. Game runs fine, except for the occasional "Fatal Error" on start, but this does not seem to be due to running it under wine.
