lukavukic: This patch includes a fix for Widescreen Resolutions, support for High Resolutions (up to 4k), and more Resolutions listed in the Video options. The journal is now fixed to work with the High Resolution patch and the game runs on the Glide Renderer as it was supposed to be played.

The installation is very simple. All you have to do is extract all the files from the zip into the Clive Barker's Undying folder. The system.ini that comes with the patch sets the default renderer to Glide and sets the highest video settings for the game so you don't have to do anything.

Note: The FOV is calculated based on your current resolution and shouldn't be altered.

Changelog:
1.11: Fixed audio sliders, fixed 32bit option for 3dfx, added russian version
1.12: Fixed inventory selection not showing, added bigger fonts for higher resolutions

isyankar: The game just plays in a 640x480 box for me at locked 4.3 aspect ratio. The patch had no effect whatsoever. Please could someone help? I wanted this for years :((

I put the system and textures folders in the patch inside the undying folder and confirmed replacing them. Isnt that it?
Also tried not replacing Engine.dll. Also tried not copying d3dim700.dll.
Yes that is it. Try changing video modes from the video settings and install latest drivers for your graphics card.
i get 3 detections from virustotal and my browser gives a warning when downloading
Shadows disappear as you approach them (playing in 1080p).

Also: Is there a way to apply this widescreen fix to Direct3D, preferably to this DirectX 11 renderer?
https://www.moddb.com/mods/unreal-directx11-renderer-for-ut-ug-rune-and-dx

Personally I think that the image quality of 3Dfx is awful these days, I never liked nGlide either so I'd prefer using even the old DirectX renderer with proper widescreen support... that is if that even worked. :D

Edit: After a bit of troubleshooting it looks like the shadow bug is caused by the Texture Updater that enables the detail textures feature. Don't use that one together with this fix.

You can use the DX11 renderer but it's still buggy, just use the original Engine.dll and configure FOV manually in User.ini.

Hello! Your patch is very good, perfect for English speaking people. But, I'm from Russia and I have such a problem, when I install your patch into a game with Russian voice acting from SoftClub (СофтКлаб), then Russian words disappear in the magazine and in the control settings and in the list of items (such as dynamite), I found out that it is because of the file "Aeons.u", I decided not to replace it and leave the original, it helped and Russian became normal, but without your "Aeons.u" another problem appeared, now an error pops up when I try to see what is in my inventory by pressing F or V. I found out that this is because of the file "glide2x.dll". And I decided to replace it with the original too. BUT after that, changing the resolution in the game does not work. What should I do??? Help please, I beg you, because your patch is the best for 1080p and I want to play with it with Russian voice acting

Hi, I have already made a fix that should be out soon. If you want to help me test it join the Undying Renewal discord server: https://discord.gg/ggb8Wd7

OK, thanks for answer. I will wait
Whenever I switch both my Undying.exe and Engine.dll files with yours, the game crashes upon entering the main menu. Which is a shame because I think it's the last thing I need in order to have the game work in 2560x1440 without getting the infamous 'General Protection Fault' crash. Deleting the System.ini file had no impact.
I get this effect using either your solution or the dgVoodoo wrapper solution.

Unfortunately no patches so far fix random crashing on high resolutions. It is recommended that you play on 1080p for the best experience.
A few (hopefully) quick questions: I have implemented the changes for the patch and things seem to look and run great! Thank you @lukavukic for your efforts!

What is the best way to experience the game with graphic setup? I have read through this thread and a few others. My takeaway:

1. It's better to use 3dfx Glide than D3D? Some people have said there is more eyecandy with Glide vs D3D?

2. My game will not even start when configured for D3D after this patch and I am not sure why so am unable to test it. Apparently @lukavukic upscaled the textures from 256x256 to 1024x1024 but the glide renderer doesn't support them so I wanted to at least look at the difference in D3D, but cannot start the game post patch.

3. Game runs fine using 3dfx Glide for Windows. Can someone tell me what the additional nGlide settings are used for located in the menu option of "Additional Executables"?

4. Is it OK to play at a high-resolution 3440x1440? Any bugs or crashes that I will experience? Someone had mentioned it is best to play at a 1080 resolution. It looks good at 1920x1080, so is that the best option?

Thanks for any help!

Yes, glide looks better than D3D. Also I did upscale the textures but I never released them, they were for learning purposes.
Do you mind testing this new patch on both d3d and glide? Download

Maximum resolution in game should be set at 1920x1080 to avoid crashes. You can set a higher resolution by using dgVoodooCpl provided with the patch.

Thanks for the info and help. Do all of these files go in the System folder? Some are not pre-existing so wanted to make sure.

Yes.
