"You may be trying to save over a read-only file or the file name you are using contains an invalid characters", etc.

Autosaves also fail with the same error and I can't find any directories in my Documents folder where the readme files indicate that the games should be saving, or the CoTN.ini file that should be there. Yes, I have done a drive-wide search for CoTN.ini. Need info please.

I'm running Win7 Home Premium.

I also get an error on install/reinstall, despite installing with admin credentials.

The saving error could derive from the installation error. Not sure why it happens.
- Try running the game as admin (right-click the game's shortcut => Run as..)
- Try uninstalling the game and reinstall it (as well by right-clicking the installer => Run as Administrator)

Have you got any non-standard set-up, like moved My Documents to an alternative location, using symbolic links, special harddisk hardware or file system etc.?

running as admin, issue persists. All standard setup, though my Documents folder appeared to be missing when searching, but I would think that would not be an issue if public Documents folder exists. At any rate, I manually created a Documents folder and then reinstalled as admin without success. The game still gave the same install error. Will try uninstalling and reinstalling as admin,

fixed now, used to have a network drive, had to go in through regedit/usersettings and reestablish the personal folders. Issue resolved.
