Hello,
I observed that when you activate HDR for the first time (you will find this in 'Options/Video options/Video settings' under the name High Dynamic Range, it can be switched 'on'), it will work properly. But when you launch the game again, even if in the video settings, HDR is activated, it's by default deactivated and the game has some kind of grey veil and darker images, without the vivid colors of HDR.

2 solutions to work around this issue:
i) First solution is not very practical as you have to go in the video settings options every time you launch the game, but it works. You just have to switch off and on again HDR in the options and it will activate for the rest of the session, until you quit the game. But you will have to do that again every time you launch the game.

ii) As the issue comes from some Unreal Engine 4 limitations, there's a more definitive solution: to launch the game in DX12.
- To do that, go in the folder where the game is installed, probably ends with ...\GOG\Chernobylite. Look for a file named 'Launch Chernobylite', it's a shortcut that launches the main game .exe, 'ChernobylGame.exe'.
- Left click to select the 'Launch Chernobylite' file (it's a shortcut) and then, Right click on it and select 'Properties', Note that if you don't have the file selected by left clicking on it first, you won't have the proper tabs in the file properties window. If you have selected the file first by left clicking and right-clicked and selected Properties, you will have multiple tabs, the second one from left to right should be called 'Shortcut' (I'm French so in French it's 'Raccourci', I think the English version should be 'Shortcut').
You just have to add to the name of the shortcut target '-DX12' and select 'Apply'. For instance, if the game .exe file is on disk D: in folder \GOG\Chernobylite, the default shortcut target should be: 'D:\GOG\Chernobylite\ChernobylGame.exe'
Just modify it by adding -DX12, it will become: 'D:\GOG\Chernobylite\ChernobylGame.exe -DX12'. It just tells the shortcut to launch the game .exe file using DirectX 12.
And voila!

Enjoy the game operating under DirectX 12 with HDR always active. Just check, once you launch the game, that you have activated HDR in the options, of course.
