We are entering the final phase of the project, expanding the testing team and digging up old topics (also resulting from your feedback) that we have not been able to deal with before. The game gets better every day.

Some of the most important new stuff will be the missions! We have added two new ones, Hard Truth and Black Stalker, thanks to which you will be able to learn more about the story of two key characters and discover some deeply buried secrets.

If you thought that the weapons arsenal in Chernobylite could not be expanded anymore, we have a message for you: it is possible and we even did. The Chernobylite Blaster and Anti-Chernobylite Burner will expand your possibilities in the Zone. How? You will have to see for yourselves!

The new additions are also levels, which will have a great impact on how you will understand the whole plot and what you will choose in the future. These are “Stealing Ariadna’s technology” and “The Woman in the Red Dress”.

Besides mentioned above, we've also made some requested improvements to make your life easier while playing Chernobylite. One of them is the ability to load the game save from the last checkpoint during a pause from the menu. Thanks to this solution, you will be able to avoid any unpleasantness during the game...

In line with your suggestions, we've added the ability to disable both the entire interface and its individual elements. Of course, we will continue to improve this feature.

Improvements/Additions:

- We've greatly improved how soldiers behave when patrolling and searching for a player.
- Black Stalker's AI has been finalized and balanced. Now, fighting him is a real challenge.
- We improved the dialogue system and added character portraits to it. You can adjust it to your preferences through the game options.
- Now enemies are marked on the compass when we hit them or are hit by them.
- We improved the indicators that appear during the fight - some of them were given a more immersive form, and some were visually adapted to the rest of the UI.
- We improved the weapon upgrade system. Now it should be more interesting and dynamic. The whole thing has also been carefully balanced and should have an even wider and more visible impact on the game.
- We improved the tab UI with Igor's skills.
- All tab UIs should be comfortable and intuitive to use with the mouse.
- We've revised all the in-game tutorials to be clearer and take into account all the mechanics we've introduced over the past months.

Redesign, balance and feedback:

- In accordance with your numerous requests, we have added the ability to disable both the entire UI and its specific elements. We will continue to refine these functions to give you even more freedom.
- You said that in the later stages of the game, the size of the base makes it practically impossible to expand it. So we enlarged it with an area that was previously flooded with water.
- We have completely rebuilt the looting system. Now, what your opponents drop should be interesting and better suited to the challenge.
- We have balanced the view ranges of the opponents and how they react to the sounds made by the player. Now stealth should be more difficult, but also more honest.
- How the fractal timeline works was not entirely clear to you, especially when you came across it before completing any story mission. Now you can see not only events that have already happened, but also those that may happen.
- You don't really like the possibility of building covers while exploring the zone. So we replaced it with the possibility of building machines that have a global impact on the zone.
- Following your request, we've added the ability to toggle aim and crouch, as well as an alternative way to use the Dodge.

General:

- The problem with Xinput1_4.dll should no longer occur on Windows 7
- We've toned down the amount of radiation that appears on levels over time
- Music should now turn down properly in the game options.

Usually we try to name people who helped us find and solve given problems. This time, however, you were flooding us with various bugs - on steam, on discord, even in private messages. It would be really hard to name all of you, so we'd like to thank the whole community instead. You make the game better! Now let's move on to fixes:

General:

- Fixed a bug that caused a modified weapon to disappear from the quickuse menu
- Fixed a bug where weapons found sometimes had upgrades that should not be available yet. You will get a thermal sight and an automatic shotgun system, but not yet ;)
- Attachments found with new weapons are now properly unlocked for the entire archetype. So you can easily move the sight from the newly found shotgun to the one we use.
- Fixed a bug that caused characters on the timeline to appear poorer in "ultra" settings than in "medium"
- One of the rifles was broken and did not appear correctly in inventory. After the number of reports I have the impression that everyone found it ;) We fixed it.
- Sometimes a door closed with a lockpick had ... A second door locked with a lockpick. We fixed it.
- On some computers there could be a problem with the sharpeing that greatly degraded the graphics quality. We have fixed it, or at least limited it.
- Problems with physical materials meant that soldiers were sometimes able to shoot through tires or sandbags. We fixed it.
- Fixed a rare bug where soldiers would start firing at the player instead of starting a conversation with them.
- Fixed a bug where soldiers killed with silenced weapons would not interrupt their custom animations.
- Fixed an issue where one of the crystals on Fractal Timeline remained red and blocked the passage.

Item management:

- Fixed issue with item duplication if half stack was once swapped with full stack and player tabbed out of inventory.
- Fixed issue with item disappearing if its grabbed and player tabbed out of inventory when there is no more room for it (it should drop on the ground now).
- Fixed issue with disappearing upgrades from weapons when its swapped with different item.
- Fixed issue with disappearing upgrades if item was grabbed but player tabbed out of inventory.
- When you held a weapon in your hand and then threw it out of the inventory or disassembled it, it still remained in the hand. We fixed it.

Base:

- Fixed a rare softblock that was triggered by trying to harvest vegetables
- Fixed a bug that allows you to get infinite resources by interrupting the Recycler work
- Fixed a rare bug that blocked progression when you accidentally trigger the build system while sleeping.

Rev 33898 Hotfix 3 - Lots of annoying stuff

Another set of bug fixes you report to us. This time they may not be blocking the game, but they are very annoying. We realize that these are not all problems, but we will gradually solve them. There is still a lot of time until the premiere...

Decisions and story:

- Sashko now correctly changes his attitude if you changed your decisions in "A few things from an old hideout"
- Sashko will no longer react negatively to Igor for releasing Kostya from prison if Kostya died earlier
- Sashko now has no change in attitude due to the Ferris wheel crashing down if the player chose to kill Kozlov.
- “Checkpoint Assault” will no longer require player input every time you return to the Fractal Timeline
- If a player during "Big Fish" shoots down the helicopter, Mikhail should not leave the team. The decision influences and correctly scales with his loyalty.
- Olga should no longer be "lost" when we rescue her from prison.
- During Hack Nar Server, the decision was the opposite of what it should have been. We fixed it.

AI and combat:

- Soldiers should now react correctly to the death of an ally killed with a silenced weapon. When they hear the body fall, they will check it out, and when they see their ally die
- Weapons should now be properly filled with ammunition if it has a magazine other than the default.
- Bolderer's AI was created before EA started. It passed a deep update, which should solve many problems, such as correct path searching, using portals, problems with animations, or sensitivity to eyesight and hearing.

General:

- Event marker on the compass should now correctly change the transparency scale with distance.
- Fixed a collision on the passage that prevented you from entering one of the stashes behind the chernobylite wall in Pripyat Central
- High-tech equipment in Igor's room should now have the correct textures
- In some quests, an old placeholder was showing on TVs instead of Tarakan. We fixed it.
- Hermit we encountered on the related quest was very dark. We improved its lighting.
- Events with gas clouds should no longer spawn in sectors where the main quest is taking place.
- When entering the fractal world, the cutscene for putting on the helmet should always start correctly
- During training with Tarakan, it was possible to block yourself if we started a dialogue with him holding a weapon in our hand. We fixed it.
- We have fixed a very rare issue that was causing problems with sharpen postprocessing.

Long story short: we’ve got a huge news for you!

We can finally reveal that the gates to the Exclusion Zone in Chernobylite will open on the most popular gaming platforms in July this year! PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are planned for later release this year.

Don’t forget this, as then you’ll get the chance to sink into a true survival horror RPG experience. One that will require planning, finding allies, team building, and searching for clues to solve the mystery that has brought you to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. However, you don’t have to wait another three months to enjoy the Chernobylite’s offerings, as the final pre-launch Mega Patch has just been added to the Early Access version, including significant changes to the story, dialogues, language localizations, optimization, and soundtrack. We've never hidden the fact that the Chernobylite storyline is the apple of our eye. All the main and side plots are crucial for the reception of the game as a whole. From your reactions we can see that the story has drawn a lot of attention, and you are looking forward to the continuation. However, there is nothing that cannot be refined even more. This also applies to the plot, which has been thoroughly re-edited and corrected by us.

We tried to highlight the different layers and aspects of the Chernobylite story we wrote as much as possible. This one is focused on the figure of Igor - a man who tries to solve a mystery from the past and understand his role in the events that took place many years ago. The attempt to find his beloved Tatyana is not only literal, but also metaphorical - it is a desire to face the past full of riddles and understatements. These and many other aspects of the plot have been remodeled and, despite many twists, it is a coherent whole.

In order to fully exploit the potential of the Chernobylite scenario, we not only reworked the storyline, but also the dialogues that were rewritten line by line. In addition, all dialogue lines in the game have been re-recorded in English and Russian. As a result, the characters sound even more natural, gaining personality and depth. It is worth mentioning that we have prepared a localization for all the main languages ​​in the game: English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Polish, including the new ones we’ve promised some time ago: Italian, Portuguese (Brazilian), Simplified Chinese and Japanese.

The world of Chernobylite also consists of characters. During your journey, in addition to the well-known and liked faces, you will meet four new characters also important for the plot - Vagabond, Volodya, Hermit, Deserter. So far, their appearances have been only placeholders - today it can be said that they’ve officially entered the Chernobylite canon.

We've also added something to this Mega Patch that you've all been asking for a long time. We added the first part of Heist, 1/3 of the entire level to be exact. We give it to you so that you can taste it. So experience something you await since the day of the Early Access release.

As you explore the world of Chernobylite, you will enjoy new melodies played in the background. They are from a completely new, original soundtrack, composed by the award-winning Mikołaj Stroiński, a talented man who worked with multiple well-known titles like The Witcher 3, League of Legends or Vanishing of Ethan Carter.

Gameplay improvements, and not only

Mega Patch also introduces a number of novelties and solutions to improve gameplay. For example, the possibility of arming companions with armor and weapons that can be found or crafted in the base. Thanks to this novelty, our companions will have an easier time completing the tasks we send them to. This is something you have asked us and what we can finally give to you.

It is also worth mentioning that we have improved the save system. From now on, players have three additional autosave slots, one separate for quicksave (operated by F5 and F8 keys). In addition, each save has the appropriate markings in the form of a screenshot from the last moment in the game, a time stamp and the length of the game.

However, it will not always be that easy. We added to the game a new enemy - Heavy Armored Soldier. He is the strongest and most formidable soldier. Armed from head to toe this one has almost indestructible armor. It takes more than just a regular gun to defeat him.

And death can also be painful for our pockets - after each death, the player will lose some valuable random items from the inventory. On the other hand, it is sometimes worth dying in Chernobylite, as we show in the tutorial where we explain why.

We also have good news for those who prefer a pad over a mouse and a keyboard - we've introduced full support for controllers, including PlayStation and Xbox controllers. This is a tribute to those players who appreciate smooth movements throughout the game.

Optimizing everything

We spent many months to polish Chernobylite - to correct bugs, graphics and increase stability. Everything that you have signaled to us many times. The effect of our actions can be seen in the new Mega Patch. The game has been thoroughly optimized in terms of memory consumption and displayed geometry. Thanks to these changes, the game works much better, is more stable, loads much faster and displays more details in a higher quality.

Additionally, it's worth mentioning that we've completely reworked the graphic settings. Now, individual options should have a greater impact on the performance and a better scaling. Owners of weaker PCs should be particularly pleased with these changes.

But it isn’t everything

Of course, the mentioned changes are only a percentage of what you will be able to find in this Mega Patch. In total, we are introducing several thousand fixes and improvements. Below you will find another portion of the most important of them:

Technology:

- The game has been thoroughly optimized in terms of memory consumption and displayed geometry. The game run much better and more stable, while loading faster
- We have thoroughly reworked the graphics settings. Now individual options should have a more pronounced impact on performance and scale better
- We optimized this when the game uses data synchronously and when it uses data asynchronously. The vast majority of random FPS drops should therefore be removed
- We've added save support in Steam Cloud
- We added DLSS support and improved support for Fidelity FX
- We've added support for Steam Achievements

Story and graphic:

- The entire storyline of the game has been thoroughly rewritten and improved
- All 4 fractal worlds summing up Igor's investigation have been rebuilt, elongated and finished. A minilevel showing how Igor got Arianna's possession as well.
- New level: Heist. We've added the first part of Heist (about ⅓ of the total) so you can get a taste of what it's all about before the game's premiere.
- All dialogue lines in the game are voiced with new VOs - both in English and Russian
- New story character: Vagabond (earlier character mesh was just a placeholder)

AI and combat:

- We have added new properties to armor. Now wearing them affects how well our enemies can see and hear us
- Opponents now react better to their surroundings. They hear worse in the rain, see worse in fog, and spot the player's flashlight
- We've added the ability to create a thermal sight for a rifle and shotgun
- We've added the ability to convert the shotgun to a semi-automatic fire mode
- We've improved how soldiers react to a melee attack. Igor's fist should no longer be the ultimate tool of destruction
- We added AI state indication. The player is informed whether the opponents are in combat, whether they are looking for him, whether he is being chased by a black stalker and how long it will all take
- We improved the performance of covers. Opponents should no longer use covers that do not offer them any real protection
- For the hardcore players, we've added a new difficulty mode: Insane. If Chernobylite is still too easy for you, be sure to try it out

Gameplay mechanic:

- We've added the ability to arm your companions with armor and weapons. You've asked for it so often, so… Surprise?
- We've added 3 new armor types, one for each tier
- We have introduced severe punishment for death. Each time a player dies he will lose some valuable random items
- We improved the save system. Now the player has 3 additional autosave slots, a separate quicksave slot (supported by F5 and F8), and each save is tagged with a screen, timestamp and playtime length
- We updated the descriptions of items and clearly indicated how the items are used
- We have added to the description of all crafting tables which specific items can be built with them

Redesign and balance:

- We spelled out and updated all of the in-game tutorials. We are aware that Chernobylite is quite a unique game and a lot of its mechanics needed to be explained more literally
- We have thoroughly balanced the amount of resources and items on the levels. Recipes needed to craft items and build structures in the base have also been balanced
- We rebalanced all base stats
- We have balanced the game difficulty levels. Now very easy should be really simple and accessible for players who just want to quietly learn the history of the game
- The sounds and musical direction of the Quests have been greatly improved
- There are now many more soldiers in the NAR secret prison, and getting out of it now requires more attention and cleverness
- We have redesigned the armor status bar. Now it should more clearly inform about the current and maximum strength of the armor

Quality of life and feedback:

- In the fractal timeline, memories that have only been slightly modified do not require interaction anymore
- We have added the ability to disable the laser aim indicator. Use it if you want the fight with soldiers to be more like a classic action game
- For people who don't want to die, we have introduced an additional tutorial that will explain why it is worth dying in Chernobylite sometimes
- We have greatly improved the performance of the game on low and high FOV
- We have added ADS support in the game options
- We have added the ability to split stacks into any parts
- We have added the ability to call the quickuse menu with mmb for those who keep forgetting where they assigned what ... and the ability to handle it with a scroll for those who do not want or cannot use it in the classic way
- We've added an icon in inventory that shows what item is currently being used by Igor.
- We have added the ability to disable head bobbing

And that's all! Now there is nothing else to do but download the Mega Patch and get ready for your summer trip to Pripyat. You have a long journey ahead of you, but its end is worthwhile.

This hotfix solves the most common and serious bugs. If your problem has not been solved then don't worry. If you reported it on the steam forum bug it will be fixed. Or at least we'll try hard ;)

Technology:

- Crash raporter did not work properly in many situations. We have improved its operation.
- We fixed the position of the weapon in non-standard aspect ratios such as 21: 9 or 32: 9. PDA should no longer be under the screen
- Fixed a rare crash related to the incorrect steam initialization
- Fixed a crash related to write errors while streaming data
- We fixed one of the random engine bugs. Don't worry Epic, we still love you.
- We fixed the infinite loading screen bug. If it still happens to someone, send us a save.

General:

- Fixed a blocker that appeared after the power plant exploded during the "dying tutorial".

Rev 42320 SuperHotfix

Yesterday's update broke something in the save for some of you. I am so sorry for causing the problems. Return to base should fix this bug. If you have any problems with the save (black screen, spawn in a strange place), load the previous save and get killed in any way - radiation, monsters. Going through the timeline should fix everything.

General:

- After returning to the base, the game misread the information about the progress of quests, which could lead to many strange errors. We fixed it.
- The "Old friend" quest should now end correctly
- More fixes in the crash reporter
- A few smaller fixes reported on steam and caught by us (blends, music, collisions)

Major Patch - Game Quality Improvement Pass 1

We are currently focusing on bug fixes, optimization and solving issues that bother you. But we found time to do some new things. Here's a big batch of fixes:

Technology:

- We fixed dozens of different crashes that you reported to us. Game should be much more stable.
- We optimized the CPU performance a bit. Framerate should be more stable during combat.
- Fixes in game memory management. Game shouldn't have such large spikes in memory usage now.
- We threw away a lot of unused audio stuff, which reduced the build size.
- During skill training, steaming should no longer be visible on weaker computers

AI:

- Soldiers will now see much worse through bushes during combat.
- Soldiers should now have a harder time finding the player's position and start searching for him faster if they don't know where he is.
- When soldiers are looking for a player, they no longer run blindly in one place. They split up to cover a larger area.
- Knife takedown will now be heard at a slightly smaller distance.

Additional:

- We've added some locked doors for lockpicks and a crystal wall to prison level so the player can discover some new things when they return to it.
- We've added 2 new tutorials that should make some situations easier to understand.
- We have added the ability to remap the quick save and load functions

General:

- We fixed many bugs related to language versions and VO
- Now the player should be able to get out of the prison cell when caught.
- Now it's possible to properly save your companions from prison. Markers and animations have also been improved.
- Trying to craft something in a tight space should no longer end up getting stuck in a collision.
- Tutorial on how to reduce the difficulty of the game that appears in the prison after a few deaths should now correctly disappear.
- Fixed a bug where Igor was sometimes guarded in prison by a soldier who could not be overcome with takedown.
- We greatly improved the operation of the flashlight. It works better up close and behaves more interestingly while moving.
- After loading the save performed after the end of any crate dump quest, we should no longer appear among the soldiers.
- We fixed a few crates that did not save after taking a save. Load spamming allowed them to be looted endlessly.
- Memento for the past: After loading save, you can no longer talk to Sashko
- Some Excuses: After loading save, Semonov will no longer resurrect and the note will not disappear
- Fixed a bug that allowed you to get extra adrenaline puffs before entering the base.
- Olga's Revolver will no longer behave weird when she targets us.

Major Patch - Game quality improvement pass 2

This is the last patch before the premiere. It was a busy time for us. We've managed to process 2000 bug fixes and improvements since the previous patch. For obvious reasons, you will only find the most important ones listed in the changelog below.

Technology:

- We have deeply optimized the performance of the CPU. As a result, the game should run MUCH smoother with a high number of enemies on the map. We have also introduced a change in the way opponents are highlighted. We hope you will like the new effect.
- We have added a loading bar that informs you of the game loading progress.
- We fixed most of the crashes that were reported to us.

Localization:

- We've added 2 community driven languages - Hungarian and Ukrainian. It's the first pass, so you may still encounter errors and missing names of items. The work on Czech and Turkish is still ongoing.
- We have fixed another large batch of localization bugs and bugs where texts do not fit in the windows.

Additional improvement and feedback:

- During trading, information is displayed about how many sold or bought items are in our inventory.
- When talking to companions, information about their state of health / psyche and the modifiers that affect them are displayed.
- On the timeline, when interacting with the crystals, information appears about the impact of a given decision on your companions and which mission it relates to. As a result, the consequences of changing reality should be much clearer.
- After training with a companion, the player now receives a notification about acquiring a new skill with a clear frame.
- Melee attack was changed from punch to knife strike. We've also improved how opponents react to it.
- Story Notes are now marked on the map, making them easier to find.
- Moving through low radiation areas no longer slows down the player. This should significantly improve combat and stealth in radioactive places.
- We have introduced numerous AI tweaks in patrol state. For example, the enemies should be much more responsive when they find a body or hear a mine blast.
- We've added a new loading screen for instances where Igor doesn't use the portal.
- Lenses in the sights are more transparent so as not to obstruct the shooting
- Old saves will no longer be deleted when a player starts a new game.
- We have added a tutorial encouraging you to commence the heist if the player has finished all available story missions.
- We have added Checkpoints at the NAR prison level. As a result, it will be easier not to lose your progress.
- When an item is dropped on the ground due to an inventory overflow (for example, during trading), the player is informed about it via a tutorial.
- All machines built by the player are marked on the map.
- Information about the current quest is displayed while browsing the map.

General:

- Due to the previously used algorithm, our companions failed far too often, even with a high chance of mission success. We fixed it.
- Tooltips should now display better if the player has changed control mapping.
- PDAs should highlight soldiers' corpses if there is loot on them.
- Esc key should now close all fullscreen UI.
- In specific circumstances, the UI of the weapon was still visible when we entered the fractal world. We fixed it.
- We fixed a rare bug where subtitles were hanging after ending a conversation.
- The loading screen sometimes disappeared too quickly, and part of the level was loading in front of the player. We fixed it.
- We fixed a bug where the player had two PDAs in their backpack.
- We fixed a bug where the enemy's laser sight would sometimes show up even though it was disabled in the settings.
- We fixed the ability to split some indivisible items in your inventory into tenths (e.g., adrenaline, flash drive).
- We fixed a bug where it was possible to remain in the build system during cutscenes.
- We fixed a bug where the loot UI remained visible on the screen permanently.
- Regular NPCs should no longer trigger traps.
- Radar highlights no longer disappear after using a stealth kill or receiving fall injuries.
- Black Stalker would not show up during the Hermit quest if we had failed the quest and went on a second quest the next day. We fixed it.
- During the Old Hideout quest, after loading the checkpoint, Igor sometimes forgot a poem. We fixed it.
- During the Old Hideout quest, if we were doing the mission "out of sequence" the quest marker would hang on the monument. We fixed it.
- We improved the operation of the NPCs. They should remember that they already got to know us and not introduce themselves every time.
- In particular conditions, the first tutorial soldiers in the power plant could kill us. We fixed it.
- The Black Stalker should no longer show up in strange moments, such as cutscenes.
- Sashko's loyalty should work correctly during the Black Stalker quest.
- Modifying decisions with Black Stalker was able to block the exit from the timeline. We fixed it.
- We have fixed a bug where if we went to jail during Old Hideout, our choice was reset in Chain reaction.
- We fixed a rare bug where Olivier tried to kill us during stealth training.
- We improved the cameras for the upgrade tables.
- After getting killed by soldiers, Volodya could resurrect and thank us for saving his life. We fixed that.
- We fixed music not shutting down properly in several quests (Some Excuses, Hardware for real men).
- Entering the pause menu while in flight no longer removes fall damage.
- Weapons dropped from your inventory on the ground now have visual attachments.
- Visiting the fractal world will no longer rearrange your inventory.
- The food tutorial should now display correctly even if you die on day 1.
- We fixed a rare bug where it was possible to lose companion info during the heist after loading the save.

Hello Stalkers!

It's been a long road, but we finally reached the finish line. When we released Chernobylite on Early Access, even in our wildest dreams we couldn’t foresee the extent to which a project created by a small group of enthusiasts would grow.

Today we’re giving you the full version of Chernobylite!

How much the game has changed in Early Access?

We extended the game time three times. Now it takes an average of 25 hours to complete it.

We expanded the game with 15 new story missions, as well as numerous random events in all locations.

We’ve introduced 11 new characters. In addition to side characters such as Konstanty, Locksmith, Semyon, Vagabond, Volodya, we’ve added a new companion to the game - Olga

We supplemented the game world with 10 new maps. Including: prologue, Pripyat Central and Red Forest, NAR prison.

We've added new enemies: 4 new monsters and some new variants of NAR soldiers.

We’ve given you 5 new weapons with a whole range of upgrades at your disposal.

We tossed in a whole host of technical and gameplay improvements, such as character development, weapon and item crafting, difficulty levels, improved enemy AI etc.

The soundtrack for the game was composed by Mikołaj Stroiński, known among gamers as the author of music, incl. for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Vanishing of Ethan Carter.

...and many others.

All the work that we’ve devoted to the game consists of:

- 35,000 scanned 3D models
- 7,000 lines of dialogue (that's 110,000 words!)
- 100 days spent in the Chernobyl zone
- 14,000 bugs fixed
- countless feedback from our players

All this work was certainly not in vain.

What's new?

Those who have the game in Early Access will be happy that we've made a ton of bug fixes that were caught by us, as well as those that you reported to us on the Steam forum. Thanks again! But these are not the only novelties we’ve prepared for the game's premiere.

Technology:

- In cooperation with AMD, we have fully implemented FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0
- We improved memory management that could cause micro stuttering on slow HDDs and weaker computers.
- We have resolved the various crashes that were reported to us. The game should be more stable.

Additional:

- Heist level Finished: It is now 3 times longer and can be completed from start to finish in many different variants.
- Game ending: You can end the game in several ways and see an outro depending on your decisions.
- New weapon: Railgun. There are too few weapons in chernobylite? So here is the kinetic cannon. It uses the power of Chernobylite to instantly energize the coils and use them to create an enormous electromagnetic field that gives the projectiles great strength and speed.
- New base structure: Railgun Calibration Tools. It will allow you to create 14 upgrades that will have a considerable impact on the operation of the Railgun.
- Photo mode. The Chernobylite world is a great place to take some photos. We decided to make it a bit easier for you ;)

Major Patch - Bug fixes and improvements

This patch focused on resolving the most important technical issues. Relax, we hear your calls for Black Stalker tweaks or the possibility of slower walking. The time will come for them. Also to announce our plans for the future ;)

Technology:

- We fixed a rare crash caused by the game renderer. As a result, the game should now run more stably on slower computers.
- We've improved thread management. This should solve the stuttering problem that has occurred on some CPUs.
- We have resolved a rare issue with an infinite loading screen that occurred with a specific event setup. Thanks to everyone who gave us their saves!
- We have updated DLSS to the latest version.

Additional:

- We've added some new events at different levels. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to polish them for the premiere, but we didn't want to throw them away. So – hocus pocus - some new stuff for you guys!
- We have added a significant missing piece of the script in the Ukrainian language version.

Improvements and feedback:

- Turning off head bobbing now also affects camera wobbling when looking around. This should significantly improve the experience for people with motion sickness.
- After loading saves, the resources were randomized in the places that have already been visited. It was confusing and allowed the players to cheat the game. Now, the resources are randomly selected during the start of the level and are permanently saved in the game save.
- Sashko's recruitment quest started very late, so we've improved his probability a bit. So now Sashko should join us faster.
- During a manual save, a message appears informing about how long ago the "state of the game" was saved. Unfortunately, the info expresses the time in minutes, which made it say "0 minutes" most of the time, making it highly misleading. Now time is expressed in seconds.
- We have graphically improved a few places. Now finding the lockpick places should be a bit easier.
-Weapons lighting for dead soldiers in indoor spaces has been improved.

General:

- The self-renewing railgun magazine should now function properly.
- Evgeniy refused to sell us the loot box during the Old Hideout mission. We persuaded him to improve.
- Before the "death mechanics" tutorial, the power plant explosion will no longer use up the adrenaline from your backpack.
- The deserter cheated on us in the trade and sold us the weapons without upgrades as upgraded. We had a serious conversation, and he should be more honest from now on.
- We still have no clue how some players manage to lose Portal Generator. For now, we've added checking each time the save is loaded if the player has the necessary equipment, and adding it in the event of a bug, so now, at least loading the save should fix the problem. Still, we would appreciate any hint as to how you lose the Portal Generator.
- We fixed the timeline bug that blocked the player if the player died at a certain point in Voice from the Woods
- We fixed a few events that triggered multiple times even though they should have been triggered once
- We fixed a rare bug where the build menu could get stuck and could not be disabled
- We fixed some typos in the script
- We fixed a bug in Some Excuses where we would get stuck when approaching Semonov with Build Mode enabled
- We fixed markers on the Crumb Trails quest. They broke if we skipped one stage of the quest
- Collisions on the roof of the hospital entrance have been corrected, and the note will no longer collapse under the mesh there.
- We fixed the collapse spot on Red Forest.
- One type of fence stopped projectiles, but it shouldn't. We fixed it.
- We removed some untraceable resources from the Moscow Eye.

Mega patch - Monster hunt

We promised to support Chernobylite long after its release, and we intend to keep our word. This is the first in a series of free DLCs we have prepared for you. The optional missions will give you the opportunity to face new monsters and replenish your Chernobylite supplies.

Changelog:

Additions:

- New enemy: Feral Chernohost. Watch out! You’re not alone in this forest. This monster usually spawns outdoors. When you see its green, glowing head, it means survival is about to get real. Feral Chernohost is extremely fast and it’s hard to escape him running in a straight line - try running in a zig-zag instead.

- New Enemy: Overgrown Duster. It can spawn anywhere, as long as there’s a flat surface, so watch out for building rooftops or decayed vehicles. It’s small and attacks from a distance, which helps it blend into the background, making the monster even more dangerous. Overgrown Duster has also the ability to disappear.

- New enemy: Ancient Shadow. It usually spawns indoors and likes to hide in the dark corners of buildings, so bring your flashlight and don’t get lost. Ancient Shadow is slow, but don’t be fooled - the monster can gain speed by glitching when moving.

- New side quests: MONSTER HUNT. This new quest draws less frequently than regular food drops. After drawing it, the player must defeat one of the three monsters mentioned above. Each one can appear on any given level in three specific spots. Killing the monster ends the mission.

Improvements and feedback:

- The Black Stalker has been heavily redesigned. He is now actively looking for the player. When defeated, he won’t respawn on the same day, and his strength scales with the strength of the storm.

Technology:

- We have thoroughly updated the NVIDIA Ansel tool.
- Nvidia DLSS now allows you to turn on the “Auto” setting.

General:

- Sometimes the loot screen was visible for too long. We fixed that.
- Items brought by your companions when the inventory is full will no longer disappear, but will be placed on the ground instead.
- We have corrected the wrong names of some containers.
- An indicator might occasionally not show up on some containers, when the player was in sprinting mode. We fixed that.
- The lockpick icon would sometimes not display correctly. This has been fixed.
- When giving away meals, the companion status would sometimes not display correctly. We fixed it.
- The Black Stalker will now be highlighted by the PDA if we have the appropriate bonus.
- Fixed a very rare bug where one of the crystals on the fractal timeline would not change its colour, making it very difficult to return to reality.
- The poison that we could use to poison Kozlov would not disappear from the inventory. We fixed it.
- Meeting with Tarakan: We fixed the blocker that was triggered by very fast skipping through dialogues.
- Meeting with Tarakan: We fixed a blocker that was triggered by running in and out of the apartment without interacting with Tarakan.
- Meeting with Tarakan: Soldiers should no longer get lost in front of the Tarakan’s block.
- Voice in the woods: We fixed a bug that was blocking the interaction with the food crate when loading save at a very specific moment.
- Heist: Sometimes Igor was unable to use the explosives, even though he did have them. We fixed it
- Hermit: We corrected collisions to make it impossible to miss the key elements of the quest.
- Chain Reaction: We removed unnecessary collisions that were blocking the player.
- The opponent's death animation would sometimes break if the player has not witnessed it from the beginning. We fixed it
- With a specific combination of upgrades, the Shotgun would start to deal much less damage than it should. We fixed it.
- The zones should now be better marked when selecting missions.
- Enemies in the large building in the Moscow Eye level should now move normally.
- Fixed some objects disappearing while being too close to the player in the Moscow Eye and Pripyat Port levels.
- We fixed some collisions in several places in Heist level to reduce the chance of getting stuck and falling out of level.
- We have disabled the ability to climb certain objects in the prison level and on the timeline. They made it possible to go beyond the accessible area.
- Fixed the spot in Kopachi where the player could get completely blocked.
- Fixed the position of some dusters that were too far from the surface (Kopachi, Red Forest)
- We have improved spawning points available for some Chernohosts at the train depot in Red Forest. They should not be blocking themselves anymore.
- We improved the location of several resources in Pripyat Port level that were unintentionally unavailable for collection.
- During one of the events with Tatyana in Pripyat Port not all objects would appear/disappear as planned. We fixed it.
- We improved the implementation of the animations Pripyat Port carousels. They no longer should act as a catapult
- We improved streaming in the largest building of the Moscow Eye level. It could have been the reason for clipping on slower computers
- It was possible to leave Igor's room after turning on the photo mode. We fixed it.

Mega Patch “Ghost Town” - Dec 23rd 2021

The second free DLC update is coming with best Christmas wishes from the whole Farm 51 Team! As a part of the Ghost Town DLC, we have prepared a completely new level based on the Pripyat Residential Area. It invites you not only to explore Pripyat, but also to face off against monsters and soldiers in new side missions.

Additions:

• New level: Pripyat Residential Area. This new level is full of new events and resources to collect. Players will be able to explore the 3D scanned recreation of Pripyat’s neighborhoods and visit new iconic locations such as the Azure Swimming Pool.
• 3 new side missions: Supply drops. Explore the new level and find lost NAR resource dumps there.
• 3 new side: Monster hunts. Do you enjoy hunting monsters? So chase them on the newly added level and restock your Chernobylite supplies while you’re at it.

Technology:

• The lighting in some parts of Pripyat Port was too aggressive, we’ve optimized it.
• The same applies to Power Plant, hope you’ll notice the difference!

General:

• We have fixed markers in the previous free DLC, Monster Hunt. Monsters are now easier to find.
• Kozlow’s quest: it was possible to poison and stab Kozlow at the same time. Hope you didn’t get too attached to this overabundance because it’s fixed and no longer available. Choose one!
• Speaking of overabundance: it was previously possible to obtain an infinite amount of resources by using the recycling machine. But it can’t be that easy so we’ve fixed it!
• Cameras related to weapons and upgrades have been tweaked.
• Previous weapon skin packs have been improved and beautified.
• We’ve fixed reported crashes on Heist.
• One particular Shadow was constantly getting blocked while walking through the door to the Power Plant - we took care of the poor bastard.
• Dialogue blocker next to Power Plant: it was very rare but we decided to fix it as well.
• We’ve taken care of levitating objects and landscape distortions.
• We’ve fixed the encountered misspells.
• We’ve added some missing lines in translations from English
• We’ve fixed some bugs related to icons in tutorials
