I can't imagine either Castles game makes use of OpenGL or Direct3D, seeing as they were released before either existed, haha. So what's this special setting for? I don't see it in any other GOG installed games I have (Shogo, Fallout 2, Kingpin).
Also, if I buy/download another GOG release which uses Dosbox, like Descent, do I need to do anything differently since I already have Dosbox installed with the Castles games?
Thanks in advance.
DosBox uses several techniques to render video output. One of them is OpenGL other is DirectX. If for some reasons default settings doesn't work on your computer, then using Graphic Mode Setup you can change it to different one.
And yes - installing another game that uses DosBox you can choose during installation (in Option screen) to use previous DosBox installation. Uncheck DosBox checkbox and enter proper path for DosBox.

I am not 100% sure as it does seem to be a "special " form of dos box that on lt works for that game when its started.
I have castles installed as well as the kings quest, LS larry and space quest colllections. So technically I have 4 dos boxes installed but I cant just start dos box on its own.
Not like if I DLed dos box itself.
As for the special setting...We it dident come up when I dled castles collection..where abouts do you get the option?
Edit: well there you go I stand corrected
