I already tried using all the different graphic mode setups in the Castles 1 & 2 folder, to no avail. I'm using a Windows 7 64 bit computer. Castles 2 seems to load up fine but the first one doesn't seem to be working for some reason.

If it helps, once I use control alt. delete and go to the task manager, I can bring up the game in windowed mode and for some reason the game looks fine then in the startup intro screens, I just can't play it this way. Could someone help me out with this? Thanks.

I am also on Win 7 64-bit. It seems by default that GOG's configurations have the game load into full screen mode. I really don't like this at all, as for me games tend to not want to run in that mode anyways - ie, I also have to Alt-Tab around and such.

I'm not sure what you mean by "I just can't play it this way" though. If you want to play the game full screen, I probably can't help you.

If you want it to start in windowed mode, you'll have to edit the game's .conf file, found in the same directory as the game's files.

What I mean by can't play it that way is every time I see the windowed box after doing what I described I constantly click in the window and it doesn't seem to pick up the mouse, even though the display in windowed mode suddenly looks okay but in full screen it doesn't.
