Carmageddon was a really fun game, and I loved the destructible objects in the environment.
But there were many times where I organised small Carmageddon LAN parties and we always had a blast.
From memory, the game only supported the network protocol IPX/SPX. This was back when IPX/SPX was more popular for private networks.
I really do hope the mutiplayer option is included in the GOG release. Some extra technical documentation around this might need to given to players ie making IPX/SPX available in windows, and making sure its not bound to multiple network adapters (or the original game crashes).
Our favourite multiplayer map level was called "Sumo". The map was based around a platform in the sky, and the game mode seemed to centre around not falling off the platform, but trying to knock off your opponents cars lol.
I was always able to choose my favourite vehicle called "The Plow" because my system had the most memory out of my friends at the time. And because of that, the vehicle selection screen always came up for me first after the game loaded the map, allowing me to select that vehicle over my friends =)
I could go on about how many great experiences that myself and my friends had while playing this game in LAN multiplayer.
Please let me know if this will be included. I do hope that the philosophy of GOG is to provide the games as close to the original product as possible?? :)
