Maybe it'll be on GOG too?

Very high chance as previous games are distributed exlusively DRM-Free via GOG and backers of Reincarnation has option for DRM-Free Windows/Mac/Linux version which suggest to GOG services for best treat and management for that kind of version as well.

The system requirements are high for what it is.

Minimum:
OS: Win 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel i3-3240 (3.4GHz) or equivalent
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: 2Gb DirectX 11 (AMD HD 7800 series or equivalent)
DirectX: Version 11
Hard Drive: 4 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX compatible
Additional Notes: Spec will be revised continually during Early Access

Now I understand that being Early Access it is still in alpha/beta/pre-release stages so there will be code optimization and such which will bring the spec down in due course, but even so, 8GB of system RAM and 2GB of graphics RAM are a lot for what I've seen in the videos.
I am very tempted to buy Carmageddon: Reincarnation on Steam, but will these specs be good enough? (if i lower graphics quality)

8 GB RAM
AMD Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 1 GB
AMD A8 5600k 3,6 Ghz

Well, I have AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 635 Processor 2.90 GHz, 8gb ram and AMD Radeon 7800 Series 1gb.
I have set everything to low. I can play the game, but the framerate isn't good at this point. Depending on the situation, I get like 3-20 fps or something like that. It will of course get better eventually. I'm having a lot of fun with the game even with low performance, bugs, crashing etc.

They've already got 1 & 2 on here, I can't see why they wouldn't sell Reincarnation here once it's ready. Really hope to see it here, I'm not buying anything on Steam. Fuck Steam..

I broke down and got the early access version. I'm running on high settings and I'm getting 40-60 FPS. Oh. btw, it is glorious 8) The finished version will be awesome.
They mentioned the final version will be more expensive. Hopefully it won't be too expensive or else I can't see it will sell well here. Beside Steamworks, its patching process or Steam as whole might be the more feasible platform since they aren't exactly a big studio to support multiple version of the game.
I activated my Steam key yesterday too because I wanted to play.
If it ever shows up on GOG and is a good game I probably re-buy it here.
I've had this early access for some time, and it feels like an old Carmageddon, but still lacks a lot of things (although it can be very enjoyable).

The worst part are the really big updates that they publish from time to time.

BTW, if anyone had bought the Reincarnation thing, you must have received the Carmageddon Max Pack freebie. There are two things to note:

- Although you can activate, download and play it, there is no page about the game on Steam.
- It have some well known .gog files inside it ;)
Reincarnation is running on the same engine as 1 and 2 are, from what i can tell.. That's why the requirements are so huge. Adding on stuff on a (very) old engine is not very efficient.

The huge size comes from the game being mostly uncompressed assets, i believe. It's far, far easier to patch than if you compress everything at this stage of development. Expect the final game to be about 3 times smaller.

Also, having fun with it :>

Not true, Carma 1 and 2 uses Beelzebub by Stainless Games.

I'm fairly sure it's running on the core of the old engine - It seems to react and look very similarly in a lot of ways. Updated, of course, but the same at it's core, just like the Source engine is based on ancient Quake 1 code (Titanfall is, basically, running on a heavily modified Quake 1 engine! :) ).

If you feel that way it only means they did good job in recreating physics, functionality, behavior and reactions of original game on different engine. That version of Beelzebub was never used in any racing game, namely vehicular combat so basically they rebuilt their own to fit the standards and demands of Carma. Still there are some problem because the same engine has been used in first person shooters, card games and simulators so it's not easy job to recreate something from scratch. Carmageddon Funsize on Android and iOS was the first steep as it uses Beelzebub engine with Gizmondo assets and graphics without use of BRender.
