Okay, I downloaded and installed it. It ran fine on my computer. 60fps+ but there was an issue with overall stability. It has some pretty significant bugs so far. For instance, I got to play one race then the entire game crashed after I won on the menu. It was fun, though. I hope they get this stuff straightened out.
It hasn't crashed for me yet, though the frame rate gets pretty low if I turn all the details up on my GTX660. The main issue I've had is the car sometimes exploding when I hit some minor obstacle that should barely damage me. I'm guessing they still need some work on the damage model, too.

Oh, and the maps taking up to five minutes to load!

Now I understand that being Early Access it is still in alpha/beta/pre-release stages so there will be code optimization and such which will bring the spec down in due course, but even so, 8GB of system RAM and 2GB of graphics RAM are a lot for what I've seen in the videos.
I would like to see lower requirements for the final version, because I would like to play the game on my Vista 32-bit, Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 (3.3GHz), 4 GB RAM and GeForce GTX 660.

When I posted those minimum requirements it was March 23rd 2014. Almost exactly a year ago. They have reduced since then (though still not enough in my opinion).

Anyway, if you only have an E8600, doesn't that cause a bottleneck preventing you from getting the most out of your GTX 660? And doesn't the 4GB RAM + the GPU RAM mean you end up not able to use a sizeable chunk of your RAM because of the maximum addressable memory of a 32-bit OS being 4GB? Your GTX 660 has 2GB GDDR5, right? So after addressing 2GB for graphics RAM your 32-bit OS only has room for 2GB more to be addressed, so your 4GB RAM is at most only half used.

My aging system is a Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16GHz) with 4GB RAM, XFX GTX 260 Black Edition and Vista Ultimate x64. When I come to upgrade I'll be needing a full system replacement.
The full version of the game will release on 23rd April. Will it release on GOG?

Waiting to see if Stainless Steel Games follows through on their promise for Mac & Linux versions of Reincarnation.

Mac & Linux versions were promised if the Carmageddon:Reincarnation kickstarter broke $600,000. Kickstarter campaign finished at just over $620,000. it's been total cricket chirps on the official reincarnation forums about Mac & Linux versions.
And now that the Windows build has performance issues... :\

Which is really great, thanks GOG!

As a Kickstarter I paid the ~5€ anyway but I am severely annoyed by SCI and their promise(s). I should have gotten it 'free' from them (as in, I paid for the DRM free later promise).

If you paid for a tier which had the DRM free version as a reward then you have got it for free. Check your humble bundle purchases page to redeem it.

Also, SCI had nothing to do with the game, they were the publishers of the original 3 games.

Yeah ok, Stainless Games, it's been a VERY LONG while. I had enquired about the status a few times, years ago. Without any result.

You're right. I had a key there now, indeed. Communication would be everything (last Kickstarter update:6. Jun 2012 WTF). Won't kickstart them again, really. Since I live in Germany I was in a haste to get the game too for the propability of it being removed for us (because you know, blood and gore on purpose).

You might want to check your spam folder because they sent out a kickstarter update email to announce this as soon as it went live yesterday with instructions on how to redeem your free copy. They have sent dozens of kickstarter update emails since June 2012, the 6th of June one was just the last day of the campaign.

Hmm, that is strange indeed, since that game is not the only I kickstarted and received mails from the others (e.g. Dreamfall Chapters and the new Toejam and Earl). I also keep an eye on my spam folder.

Sounds like something went wrong there, with the taste of it not being on my end.

Nevermind though. The time it took them speaks for itself. Try to download the linux version ;).
