Been getting into capitalism 2 after buying it a year ago and I've been having fun with it. it just seems that sometimes the game runs too fast. like the tool bar animations play too fast and when I try to click the button to select stock percentage to purchase it jumps up way too fast so I cant select a low enough percentage to buy (only started with 1 million for my player but it jumps past 1% which comes out to 1.1 million)

Try minimizing the game while playing, bringing up Task Manager, right-click on the capitalism 2 exe running, go to set affinity and set it to only use one CPU (I assume you have a multi-core processor), that could be the problem.

Oh, if you experience Dosbox crashing when minimizing, go to the properties of your capitalism 2 shortcut and set compatibility for disable visual themes and desktop composition, that will fix it(goes for all dos games).
Yeah, I had this problem when the game was installed on my WinXP system too so it's not a OS related thing. I think it's just the game.

If you managed to solve it, do let me know please? :)
Not an OS system issue but a game was not designed for a multicore processer issues.
THe game was programmed for Windows XP as well as Windows 98,but has a speed problem with XP computers with multicorp systems.

I am not trying to be a smart ass,but have your tried adjusting the speed in the game?

You might also want to try running it in compatiblity for Windows 98/ME,since that mode automatically sets affinity to one processor.

I'm also having this very annoying problem with the simulation running too fast on my windows 7 64 bits. It makes the whole game feel kind of bugged, plus it's impossible to finish the first entrepreneurial tutorial because once you follow the instructions to increase game speed, it gets out of control and advances a bunch of years in just a few seconds. When I managed to put it back on slow speed (which runs already too fast ) I had too little time to complete the absurdly high goal of that mission.

I tried disabling the use of multicore via afinnity settings in task manager and saw no improvements.

Does anyone know of any software that emulates a crappy old pc out of a modern 64 bits machine?

Edit: I also tried all of the compatibility modes and nothing :(

I'm having the same problems, so far slowing down the game seems to help, but it makes the tutorial near impossible to beat as it's 3/4 over before you can pause the timer.
After the update the game time is still running crazy fast. Too bad they didn't fix that bug for multicore processors.
