It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

FIX:
DO NOT install in a directory with spaces in it.
Go into the videos folder wherever you installed the game and move them to a new folder.
ORIGINAL POST:
...and needs to close. Every time on start up. The progress bar loads all the way to green, then the game minimizes and "encounters a problem."
I'm running Windows XP SP3, Q6600, GTX 260 with 2GB of RAM.
Tried all compatibility modes.
This is even worse than Gorky 17 experience that I've had (which still hasn't been resolved).

This question / problem has been solved by Hathurimage
A few people appear to be having problems getting CtP2 to work on their computers. Best thing is to go through the GoG support conact point and give them all the info and hope that they are able to resolve the issue.
Update:
I have reinstalled the game into a directory without any spaces. The game now instead loads up to a black screen with game music playing in the background. It is Not Responding in the task manager and the only way out of it is closing it through the task manager.
Do you get the close/debug message but still find the game in your task bar?
This is how I avoid the crash message
I start the game, the loading bar comes along. While that is happening I press escape continually so the game immediately skips the intro video and goes straight to the menu screen.
Not the best solution but it does avoid the issue for me.
I'll just repost my message from the other threads I responded to that have this similar problem:
I found a fix... the problem is the video files in game (namely the intro video and possibly the wonder of the world videos).
Go to your file browser where you installed the game. I.e.: D:\games\call to power 2\ctp2_data\default\videos ... (not sure what the default directory as I installed to a custom directory)
In there you will see a bunch of video files... cut those and paste them into a temp folder (dont delete them). Now launch the game.. it should work now (it does for me).
I tried re-installing the wonder of the world videos, but after I build them and the video tries to load, the game crashes... so just remove the videos and when the game tries to find the videos and can't find it, it ignores it and just continues to let you play. Works great for me.
You can always view the video files in windows media player outside of the game if you want to see them.
Hope it helps.
This actually solved the launch problem. Thanks!

Thanks, I had the same problem, but only with the wonder videos. The intro video would actually play (eventually - it flickered for a while like it couldn't decide what to do). It's a real shame not having the wonder videos though and I'd be really interested in a solution that doesn't involve losing them altogether.
If the issue is indeed caused by those two videos, which would seem to be the case, then maybe you should contact GOG and explain this to them.
By bringing it to their attention they may then be able to more quickly solve the issue by looking at either the video files themselves or the part of the application which runs those videos in-game.
After all, an issue with a possible lead is easier to get started on than an issue with none.

That's the only thing which worked for me. Getting the Indeo codecs on a post SP1 version of Windows requires paying $15 for the privilege with no guarantee that it will work and no way of testing it ahead of time.
Does the mean the spaces like \Call to power\ is now \Calltopower\ ?

Sorry, does that mean the spaces between the file directory?

\Calltopower\ like that?

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application.
