Hello,

I have read through this forum and I have tried various compatibility issues and the apolyton patch. Whenever I try to run the game, I get a black screen with a waiting icon.

I did see a suggestion about installing to a temp directory, but no directory is labeled temp.

I am using Windows 7 as my OS. Any further relevant specifications can be provided upon request.
I have exactly the same Problem. It seems if one has Win7 64x then GoG games will have trouble...
Do you hear sound or music from the game while the black screen is shown? If so, then it might be the video. I had that problem, just went into the ctp2_data/default directory and deleted the intro video (should be the first file in there). Suddenly, game starts working again.

Thank you so much for this. I had this issue and it worked perfectly. (Win7 64bits)

You can also install indeo codec if you want to play with videos.

The problem with the Indeo codec being that it's a known security risk, so you'd better install the appropriate Windows update to resolve that.
