Hi guys,
I too couldn't run CoCDCoTE from GOG.
Out of frustration, I bought a copy from Steam which was luckily on sale, so I got it for only $2.23!
Anyway, Steam copy ran fine!
However only thing I noticed that Steam version did was to prompt me to install a Windows Media codec prior to launching the game. Why GOG version doesn't do this automatically is anyone's guess!! GOG, you need to QA your games before releasing!

Anyway, I didn't bother re-inatalling the GOG version to test it again.
However, I believe you can run the game on GOG version by first installing the Windows Media codec installer.
The folder can be found in the GOG installation folder for the game.

1. Right-click on the shortcut to the game from the desktop and select "Open File Location"
2. Choose folder named Codec
3. Run the single exe file found within the Codec folder. Believe the filename is WM9Codecs.exe
4. Done! Enjoy ur game

Hopefully the above solves it for GOG gamers! Let me know if it does!

Hello!

I found the codecs file page and tired to download the codecs to get the game running and it pops up with a message that says that the app isn't supported on my computer. I'm running Windows x64 home edition on a desktop PC. So I may have to just end up trying to find it on steam to be able to play it. Thank you for the information as I feel this may have worked for some other people. I just wanted to provide an update for you so you know that it may work for some and may not work for others.

Hi, did you run the codec found within the game folder itself? I wouldn't risk running codecs from websites.
