The reason why I ask its because the one sold on Steam is infamous for its many bugs and glitches it have (or the bug in the prologue that literally throws you back to the desktop when trying to climb down on a ladder).

I would have no objection against buying the game again here but out of sheer curiosity do you think replacing this exe with the steam one would help making it run as intended or its basically 2 completely different things?

Hey, Mr. Pirate. It's only five dollars here.

Notice how I said I have no objection buying it again

reading is a luxury product it seems

You can always just add the GOG version to Steam as a "non-Steam game", right? I think it's more complex than just replacing the .exe though since GOG included various changes.

I'd say buy it, feel free to fiddle with it, and if nothing else, add to Steam as "non-Steam game" or however that works.

You did say that. Sorry. Still it is only $4.99 USD.

Upvoted due to honesty...Always call it out when I see it!
So after a bit of tweaking and replacing exe files from the Engine folder I managed to make the steam version running significantly better than with the original files but for whatever reason the button mapping seems to be all over the place/cannot be remapped and saving the changes while some people from the steam forums reported that it works just fine on their end

strange...

The only difference between the Steam and GOG versions is the launcher exe, main exe and the fixes in the GOG version to the shaders.
Shouldn't cause issues like that.
