There originally was a bug in the game that basically put you into a situation were you cannot win.
During the final part of the game escaping the tunnels where they are collapsing you always die between the two portcullises because you cannot out race the instant death timer of the level.
Is there a way to mod the movement speed or was that done all ready because i've tried this stage 4 times now and I always die at the same spot, that being halfway between the two portcullis area and almost at the teleporter.
Update:
I tried a few common tricks to get around the issue but sadly to no avail.
Attempted to lower the resolution as well as AA but it was not enough.
Tried running straight all the time also to no avail.
Tried side running to no avail.
Tried jumping from the instant kill spot and sadly no change.
Tried jumping all the time and no difference.
So I am out of ideas and sadly GoG seem to be selling CoC: DCotE still as a broken/unbeatable game.

First off during the escape there is nothing to kill and I have run that final part 15 times and each time I die at the part that always kills you because its a bug.
2nd I did kill everything in the stage before getting to the Hydra boss fight and there is nothing to kill.
I have no idea what your videos prove other than that person didn't get the bug or probably upped their walking speed by using the cheat engine.
Bottom line is that you should not have to use the cheat engine to beat the game since GoG claimed to have fixed the bugs and made the game playable.
Issue is that it is not playable since you can't get out of the tunnels.

Hi Vermillion665,

I had the same issue (I think) - I tried that section four or more times, but failed.
Then I started messing with some application settings, and eventually I could beat it every time.
Then I reverted back to my original settings... and I could still beat it every time.

So yeah... I think it's just a really difficult section.

Try the following:
- Update your GPU drivers to the latest version (it's possible that this solved my issue)
- Let me know if you have dual GPUs - as this might be interfering with the VSYNC.
- Test your FPS to make sure VSYNC is working - Should be 60 FPS or below (I use RivaTuner for this).
- Try Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode (Shouldn't be necessary - but why not...)

Tips:
- Save the game after Jack recites that red amulet speech - so you don't have to keep watching it.
- Hold the down button while the missile cutscene plays - so you start moving as soon as it ends.
- Avoid any damage or looking at anything that might make Jack insane - He walks slower when this happens.
- Make sure you have full health.

Hope this helps.
@deanf
The graphics card being updated, though it is has nothing to do with a known bug for the game.
I dont have dual GPUs and once again it got nothing to do with a bug.
FPS should be solid for all I know.
Tried running the game in XP but still died in the exact same spot, the low point just between the trap area/portcullises.
Ive taken no damage and can get through the area with high sanity by staring the at floor but once again I die in the exact same spot all the time because this is a bug, not me being slow, not about taking corners 100% perfect its a bug because the timer is either to short and an old way of getting past this was to knock down the graphics to its lowest but you can't do that since GoG said they patched out the speed related to resolution.

For a good while it seemed like the bug was caused by high framerates.

I've beaten the retail version of the game without the unofficial patch or knocking down graphics - but I had to enable VSYNC to limit my framerate to 60 FPS (I have dual GPUs, so this was a little finicky - hence the question).

Where did GOG say they patched out the speed related to resolution?

All I saw in the release notes was the following:
"NOTE: This version includes various small fixes, including: proper V-sync functionality"

Thats my bad for assuming they fixed it when it did say 'small fixes', I would assume they did fix the issue that didn't let you beat the game.
Also you are talking about the original version?, I guess the cd version of the game.
I am talking about the GoG version which I cannot beat because of that bug. I am not sure if anyone else has gotton to that point in the game yet but I am guessing it will happen to more people.
If I remember the issue was that they gave you barely 1 min to get just past the place were you use the stone to teleport out.
If you are not past that invisible line you are killed instantly. I have heard that some people did mod the game to increase the timelimit or they changed the graphics since in the original version you could run quicker on lower resolution but GoG said they fixed that issue.
Only other way to do it is get a cheat engine and max out the walk speed from what i heard but you should not have to get a 3rd party item to beat a game being sold on GoG.
I think it was in another thread that a GoG admin who may have worked on the project mentioned it.
Same problem for me :D
Same here.
Same problem here.

I've gotten past the death point once but died during the incantation to open the gate. I basically looked at my feet the entire run from the chamber to exit.. But even then, you clearly don't have enough time.
I remember that damn part... Is like in the last 5 minutes of the game. I played this without patches back when it came out. The only way I manage to do it was by staying to the right of the path while I ran and also doing small jumps. I remember reading that the floor is also collapsing right where is all dark so you can't see it. I know... it sucks. Just run all the way to the right and do small jumps. It will take a couple of tries but I went from not been able to do it to doing it like two or three times in a row. Can't confirm the GOG version is the same but it should. Worth a try, right? :)

PS: maybe it was to the left, but almost sure is to the right.
I managed to pass it by using the unofficial patcher and increase the walking/running speed.
Same problem here, simply not enough time to complete level. I am using gog version without any patches.
I remember trying to figure it out years ago and came across a thread somewhere that said it was because they set the timer to be based on CPU cycles, not time, so faster CPUs actually gave you less real time to finish the section.
