Hello there !

I've recently installed that lovely game on an old gaming rig somewhere (4/3 monitor, etc.) and came accross two troubles already mentioned in other posts, but no solutions (be it from GoG, Steam, PC Gaming Wiki, etc.) helped for now... So here it goes again :

1) The first launcher, which displays a weird visual glitch - see the screenshot -, doesn't admit (full screen) resolutions above 1024*768 in 60 hertz. Which isn't that much of a bother in itself - those old games are always good enough for me in the visual department -, but the Alt + Tab constant crashes are more annoying. Alt + Tab itself works actually, but the game crashes each time the focus switches back at it. I'm mentioning the weird (low) resolution limitation and graphical glitch because I've noticed other people reporting those together in much older threads, so I'm guessing there's a link. Plus, if I do use the Widescreen fix suggested to obtain a windowed (1024*768) version - which obviously looks a bit odd with a 1600*1200 native resolution -, those crashes disappear... For now, the only way to support Alt + Tab have been to use that fix and then lower the desktop to 1024*768. Not exactly fantastic... So, if anybody has a suggestion, I'm all ears !

2) I don't have troubles with manual saves, which appear in the loading menu as they should - and yes, both Windows user name and the local time settings are fine : nothing weird there too -, but the game's auto saves never seem accessible. I mean, where (in the game) are you supposed to see them ? For they're definitely done and can be seen in the corresponding \Bethesda\Call of Cthulhu folder - which isn't located on C: -, so it's not a writing issue, but I don't understanding how one is supposed to use them... Which is annoying in many situations, even without gunning for a high rating, and means you can never leave the game at the beginning of a level - even though an auto-save has supposedly just been done !

All in all, it's still playable, but if anyone had ideas to experiment, I'd certainly enjoy it much more... Thanks in advance !

Cheers,
Benjamin
