A couple of questions about gods and temples in Caesar III.

1. What exactly are the blessings? From my understanding, they are as follows; is this correct?

a. Ceres: Production on all Fruit, Olive, Vegetable, and Wheat Farms is instantly set to 100%. One-time event.

b. Mars: A Spirit of War guards your city, doing some damage to an invading army the next time your city is attacked. Effective until the next time your city is attacked.

c. Mercury: One of your granaries is filled with 600 each of Fruit, Meat, Vegetables, and Wheat. One-time event.

d. Neptune: All export prices are doubled. Effective until the following January.

e. Venus: Population mood increases. One-time event.

2. Is there any sort of mutual exclusion between the blessings? I've never had two different blessings fall in the same month, so I assume that there is. How long do I have to wait after receiving, say, Ceres' blessing, before I can get Mars'?

3. What do I have to do to have the same blessing fall on me more than once? Getting a god to Exalted seems to be enough for the first one, but keeping that god at Exalted doesn't seem to give any additional blessings.

4. Since Large Temples require more than twice as many employees and take up more than twice as much space as Small Temples (to say nothing of their respective costs), under what circumstances would Large Temples compare favorably to Small Temples?

1.) Sounds right.

2.) It appears that yes, you can only receive a blessing once per month. This person goes into a lot of detail about how it works: http://caesar.biancavanschaik.nl/gods

3.) By the above source, and at least two other places I glanced over, you need to reduce the god's mood to below 50 and then get it back up to 100 (exalted) again.

4.) One large temple is about equal to 2 small temples: a small temple services 750 people and a large one 1500 people. And as for the priests coming out both, they seem to behave identically. Ie. one does not patrol any farther than the other. Hence you also lose a walker going from 2 small temples to one large one. So the question is why build 1 large instead of 2 small, because by the above source it also makes no difference to a god if you build one large or two small temples?

Large temples are more desirable, so they might be more useful around smaller housing areas you're trying to get to very high levels (large villas / palaces). Also, space can be an incredible premium in the game and it can easily happen that you can fit a large temple more easily than 2 smaller ones, simply because two smaller ones take up 4 spaces adjacent a length a road, and a large one only 3. So large temples will be favorable where space along a road is more restricted than away from it.
