It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

oldbrass: Sorry, I meant control+clicking. Not Command.

I just tried it again and it doesn't seem to do anything. It's kind of odd. I'm not sure why it wouldn't recognize the control+clicking as right clicking, but it doesn't seem to. Wish I had a PC mouse hanging around so I could give it a try with that.

Any other thoughts?
On your Apple trackpad you should be able to right click - the specific action may depend on how you've set up your track pad - you should be able to hold two fingers on it and click. That should give you the desired right-click action.

You can also set up the trackpad so one of the bottom corners gives you a right click.

I'm an idiot. Thank you, Crazy Dave. Problem solved. Now my 7 year old can rule Rome with a very small iron fist.

Thanks.

No worries, I had forgotten about that too in my initial reply :)

It is odd though that control-click doesn't work in Wine

Long live the Emperor. :)
is the wrapper free and legal to download and whats the best way to actually get the game for MAC osx?

The wrapper is free and legal (the wrapper don't contain the game itself, just prefabbed settings on a Wine wrapper to make it easy to port to the Mac) - you can even make a wrapper yourself if so inclined. The best way to play the game on the Mac is buy the game on GOG and then either make or download a Wine wrapper to play the game. Enjoy!

Pall the Tall changed his links. He posted the new one later in the thread. This one should work:

Thanks, Crazy Dave!

I am still running into trouble opening/ playing Caesar 3, and am quickly realizing how little I know about computers - mac or otherwise. If I may be so bold, might I ask you to help me troubleshoot?

These are the steps I have taken:
1. Downloaded the 366 MB game from GOG, and the "setup_caesar3_2.0.0.9.exe" file is sitting on my desktop, but when I double click it, it says "You can't open the application ___ because Microsoft Windows applications are not supported in OS X."
2. Tried to download/ install Paul the Tall's wrapper - but I get stuck on following Paul's Install instructions. Tried to use fenij's post for help, but this hasn't seemed to help.

I'm a little stuck, and am not sure who to turn to...
Thank you for your time!

Hmph - it should not require the fix fenij and I mentioned in his posts as I think Paul the tall updated his wrappers to already account for the change in GOG installers.

Anyway, you can't run the .exe directly since as your error msg stated, it is a Windows only application. That is where the wrapper from Paul the Tall comes in. (As an aside: it is in fact a pre-configured Wineskin wrapper -which is what GOG uses too now that they port older programs to the Mac - and which itself is a front-end for making really nice OS X WINE packages for your applications. WINE is the compatibility layer that allows Windows programs to be run in a Unix environment like OS X. WINE stands for Wine Is Not an Emulator and is a continuing open source project.)

Can you say at where you got to and what part of Paul the Tall's instructions you get stuck at? We'll work from there.

In addition, while I'm happy to help, you can also try Pall the Tall (either on his website or here since he sometimes frequents), forumer Rampancy also has a great thread about porting Mac games in general - give you some sense of what is going on and why (don't be intimidated by the length, he goes through many types of games and ways to port, the Wineskin methods are the ones you want to look at). doh123, the dev for Wineskin, also has a website with FAQs and a Manual.
