I found that I had the same problem as well. Trying the CTRL + down key didn't seem to work for me, but a combination of alt-tabbing out of the game and back in again, and then holding the run and down keys and changing the direction slightly seemed to do the trick. It's frustrating that it is so close to the end of the game too!

P.s. Does anyone know if we're allowed to attach zip files onto our posts here? I was hoping that I could upload a zip containing a save right after this spot for people who may encounter this problem and are unable to use any trick to bypass this bug.

Holy crap am I glad I found this thread. I've been doing a Broken Sword marathon before jumping into The Serpents' Curse (greetings fellow backers) and I tell you, while Broken Sword 4 is better than 3 by a long shot the 3D controls are still absolutely abysmal.

I got stuck in the room with the two looming statues that need a bit of 'tweaking' in order to progress. George kept getting stuck on two particular items of interest close to where you need to go and I was about to give up. Holding the run key, alt-tabbing and holding down when getting back into the game seemed to work like a charm.

I'm very thankful for the advice!

Corran: I got stuck in the same location as well.

Holding the keys down long is not the answer in itself.

What worked for me was to alt-tab while in the game and NOT on the Escape menu; when I then went back to the game I could walk away from the spot immediately.

I hope this will help anyone who has the same problem.
Alt-tabed and pressed S(Down Arrow on default) while tabbing back and got unstuck. Thanks.
That worked for me! Thanks.

Thanks for the help.

I had the same issue and reloaded a previous save (before entering the cave with Mark) and it didn't change anything. But trying to go down (down arrow), alt-tabbing and re-opening the game did it :)

DoctorGOGgles: That would be quite a bit of game to replay from the end of Phoenix, especially since the cutscenes and dialogs can't be skipped. I really appreciate your help! Take your time!

dmjure: I was having this problem as well. I finally was able to move by pressing the down arrow AND the CNTL key. I hope this works for you.
thx! moving and running really worked. don't have to search for a savegame now.
