Hey guys, for the last day or two i have been looking into trying to disable points of interest in BS1DC and i feel i am getting close, still a few minor bugs to sort out,
here is a video showing the points of interest disabled
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfZG4IxgAKw
anyway i don't know if anyone else will be interested in this but thought it might be worth posting what i am doing here.
Haven't played DC yet but having those disabled would be great! Good work!
Hell yeah! Nice work!! Keep us posted on your progress.
Excellent work!
Wow it really is nice to see people interested in this (i thought this topic would just die after my first post) so thanks for the support guys
Anyway i think i have it sorted now, it just needs testing (so far i have only tested from the beginning to the part where you control George for the first time and it has all gone well),
i can post the test version later if anyone would like to try it out ?

i also need to find a good way to distribute this, i have 3 idea's, which do you guys think would be the best ?

1) as patch, the downside to this is that it wont give you the choice of turning on and off while in-game, the patched EXE will just have points of interest turned off (if you want them turned back on just restore a backup of the EXE or reinstall the game)

2) as a separate program that runs along side the game as shown in that video in the first post, all a person has to do is open my program first, then run the game and press the desired button to turn Points of interest on/off. (THIS IS PROBABLY THE EASIEST OPTION IN MY OPINION)

3) as a EXE loader that a person loads the game from (so instead of loading bs1dc you load my EXE) and it will hide itself in the background and when the keys are pressed activates or deactivates the points of interest.

or should i just go to the trouble to make all 3 ?

I´m currently not interested in this, but if I were interested I would choose the second option. Nice work though, I understand why people want to disable them, they make the game easier and it makes the game feel different than the original :P
