I finally got around to installing Broken Sword: Director's Cut and found that when running the game, a blank white window would appear and the game would never load. In my case the problem was WindowBlinds. Adding the game executable (bs1dc.exe) to the WindowBlinds exclusion list allowed the game to run properly.

I'm just posting this in case someone else has run into the same problem.
