Is that being worked on, or are there a mod or something to fix it?

I'm not holding my breath (ha), they might fix it, they might not. My money's on them abandoning the port after "fixing" it with one patch and calling it good.

Keep posting issues, GOG already released one hotfix, so you never know.

Unless you're a mind reader, you won't know what GOG will or won't do. Good thing you can't bet money on posts lol or people might be in trouble. Cause so far they released 2 hotfixes. So that's 2 patches, so bet lost already. =P

Yes, they have hotfixes/patches, but they still haven't fixed the controller icons/input icons to reflect the controller the user is playing with nor have they fixed the audio looping or reverb issues. I don't have faith because most people won't even see them as valid issues, and by virtue, neither will GOG. Where does one even report issues anyway? Yes, we don't know what they will and won't do, you're right, but if they truly cared about preservation, they should do more than merely porting over an obscure PC port from 2003 and adding point sampling options.
GOG needs to fix the music, make sure the 1920x1080 resolution doesn't stretch the screen and update button icons.

They need to fix a boatload of things in this port, this was clearly a rush job just to fulfil a quota and get peoples' goodwill. They couldn't give two shits about the audio issues or missing controller glyphs, much less proper 4:3 scaling. Prove me wrong, people, I'd be happily proven wrong.
As far as i know they fixed every audio issue with the exception of the reverb which is actually a common issue on PSX games that has been ported to PC, for whatever reason.

The scaling is proper if correct settings used. No clue why they had to update the filter because to me it was clear that only single pointed can give the very best result. Although this issue was a Capcom legacy which initially was not fixed by GOG.

Whats left is a faulty pad-Input-wrapper but for some weird reason, on my system... i do not even need this wrapper because the game seems to work fine without.

I think they put in a lot of work but apparently they still need to learn a lot.

I tried the original Version out some Months ago, it did run like a Sheet of Paper, a lot of crashes, really unplayable.
The Gog Release runs for me without Problems, they did a good Job killing Bugs.

The looping Problem and Reverb are something that seems out of Scope, as it lies within the ground Structure of the Port.
Capcom used MP3s back then, propably because the Alternative would have been to use Midi.
I am not sure why the Reverb wasn't recorded by Capcom back then.

Never had issues on PS1 emulators so *shrug* the looping issues and lack of reverb ruin the immersion and game, so I can't in good conscience, consider this is a competent port. What bugs? Never said it ran poorly, it runs fine, just the audio issues make it painful.

MP3s? Without the reverb I can almost feel like midi instruments are being played on top of instructions of how each song is like. Weird, I guess the reverb effect really did a lot more for the soundtrack...

And there's not a chance in hell they'll fix it, nor will they care enough to fix it.
Heres what i did

If you use an xbox controller, set the keyboard controls in game to the game pad equivalent for A B X Y, and they change in game key icons to those letters

Example:
Confirm= A Key
Cancel/ action = B key
Dash= X key
Menu= Y key
Camera left= L key
Camera Right = R key

Change rank i left as tab and mapped it with steams overlay to the triggers

This helps when there are on screen prompts that require you to press certain buttons, so you at least get some sort of button icons. Not perfect but its better than nothing

Yep :) MP3 (Screenshot attached).
Who knows how Capcom recorded it back then, maybe they had a Program that emulated the PSX Sound Chip, but not perfectly, so that the Reverb wasn't recorded.

And I don't think GOG will even want to fix that or reimplement the PS1 soundtrack. They can do what SE did with FFVII PC and replaced the MIDI with the original soundtrack in OGG format. Surely, that's not impossible for them to do? The lack of reverb sounds objectively awful.
