I tried looking but didn't see any post about it, only about "gamepads" (which I assume are xbox). The game doesn't detect the PS4 controller even if I use it wired through USB.

Yes, I do know the usual workarounds and I don't like them. ds4w fucks my controller on games that actually recognize the ps4 controller and starting the game as non steam game to use steam virtualization is giving me input lag and other weird malfunctions with the controller during game, and if the controller battery discharges the game tells me to reconnect the controller but cannot recognize when it is reconnected and I am forced to alt+F4 the game because I doesn't switch for keyboard on the fly for me to quit normally.
I'm trying to get my new bought ps4 controller work as well...

honestly this game launch on PS4 i dont think it is possible for it to not support ps4 controller.

i read somewhere else on team people played with controller tho, so either gog doesnt support ps4 controller for this game , or there is a way to activate it...

EDIT:

look like ppl get controller to work by adding non steam game into steam and play via steam.

do the same and it should work?

Im trying myself if i dont come back means it works

EDIT:
Turns out i have no clue how to turn on the game without steam kicking me back to gog.
But i got DS4 window and now im playing via gog :D

Well that's a bit annoying. Here I thought that Steam was being a jerk and grabbing the DS4 so that it could only be used via Steam.

So, launch the game through Steam to get controller support, and after you're done, launch it through Gog Galaxy for a moment to sync the save.
Yeah I know of both launching it through steam and using ds4. I said in the first post though that I don't like to use them because they generate problems after a while and sometimes it´s a really annoying trouble.

I want to open the game through galaxy and the game recognize my controller connected through USB like I can already do with many games, like Wizards of Legend, Iconoclast, Valfdis Story, Bombshell, Battle chef brigade, Hollow Knight and UnEpic.

I just bought twin PS4 controllers, thanks for the list of compatible games.
You can use DS4Windows to play with PS4 controllers on this and other games that support gamepads but don't natively work with PS4 gamepads.
It's beyond me, how Controller Support is not PS4-support natively. Really.
Having the same issue, and being asked to do workaround with support.
Now my other games which I use PS4 controller for shows up as xinput. F# that.
Instead of adding a the game to Steam, add the GOG Galaxy launcher to Steam. Make sure GOG Galaxy is closed, then launch GOG Galaxy from Steam. Steam will now think the GOG Galaxy software itself is a game, and enable PS4 controller support for it. Been playing with my Switch Pro controller this way.

Still only a workaround... no solution... but thanks anyways :)

could you explain how to do this? I'd appreciate it
